name one player on our team with his offensive skills. name one offensive player who has consistently dominated while in a us jersey (aside from donovan, dempsey, bradley). the reason adu is up there with those guys is because he hasn't been played. he just hasn't found the right club team, he needs to find one that needs a #10 and lets him play there (and he has gotten pt at teams like benfica and played well at aris in greece, he is good enough for some good teams out there). but all that matters is how be plays for the NATIONAL TEAM and every time he plays there he does well. remember against spain in 09? mexico in 11? all his youth national team games, where he dominated at youth world cups against players like aguero? he plays well for us, let the kid play. and he is the most naturally talented player we've ever had (aside from michael bradley, of course). and once he does play, he will dominate. this was one of the most talented prodigies ever. he's like williams gates but he ended up goin pro and is already halfway there. he'll start ballin if you play him.

You do know he didn't play against Spain in 09'... pleaseeeeee just stop and come with facts.

Atjsoccer93: Adu deserves to be in January camp? really? Until he gets consistent playing time for his club then he'll get called.

I've been.away for a few days been ill, but wow ive read tjsoccer's post and he/she is a little to extreme FOR ME and that's saying something LMAO.i put it out there that I support Adu but I try to give quality positions even if the opposition disrespects my views which i do not mind...ill say that i agree that Adu needs PT to get to camp..but can u agree that Brek Shea will be at the camp? And if so how do we explain that when we say one person needs PT while another doesn't dress for Stoke?

But yes TJSOCCER is expressing opinions that not even I.can grasp lol...his lineups of.leaving demps and LD out means imo that he's.just joking with us...

YOU GUYS. I stopped paying attention to this thread and just came back to it, and this is the shit I find? You can't make this up!

First off, there are many, MANY people who would disagree with your first "fact." The EPL has more parity than many other leagues, but if you ask 20 football analysts, I would bet that at least 10-15 would say the Bundesliga is the best league in the world right now. Just because the EPL has the exposure and coverage does not make it "the best." Hence why the CL final last year was played between two German clubs.

And then he has the audacity to tell us that LA LIGA IS JUST BARELY BETTER THAN THE MLS. I mean, you truly can't make this shit up. Give this man a medal.

Having an extremely top-heavy league doesn't make it the best.

It doesn't look like he will make the January camp, but this sounds encouraging today from Bolton manager Dougie Freedman regarding Stuart Holden:

"If we're being honest, he's still got a long way to go. Don't expect to see him out on the pitch in the coming weeks, but knowing Stuart and his mentality, he's working as hard as he possibly can to get back out there. The plan is pretty straightforward. Stuart is back over here to spend a few weeks with our medical guys. We'll see where he is, and then he'll head back to the US to continue his rehabilitation. The main reason for that is because he's already started his rehab work over there. The weather is also better for him to work in. Once he has made significant progress on that front, probably about six to eight weeks, he'll then come back to us to step up the work on the football side of things."

Similar to last year, expect to see Holden joking around and running around cones and whatever to step up hs rehab. Still possible...

Wooow at tj soccer epl is arguably not even a top 3 league in the world.. Epl sucks to me is extremely overrated. When they dominate Europe, win champions leagues talk to me... Anyways what doea this have to do with January camp lol.. Cant wait for the camp.is gonna be very competitive since many players want to make a final push for the wc.

OMG R U SERIOUS????? EPL IS OVERRATED???? we're talking about the best league in the WORLD here. that's like saying the nfl is overrated.

You do realize the NFL cannot be compared to any other league besides the CFL right lol.. You cannot use an America's ONLY sport and try to use it as an defense. The EPL is overrated, it is only popular in the US because of the of the coverage it receives and the parity which makes it more fun to watch. What do you always hear when analyst talk about the EPL? The physicality of the the league. Not the technial skills like the Bundesliga, or La Liga, though La Liga bores me. EPL is fun to watch but in no way is it the best league in the world. How is it the best league in the world when only Man City has a chance to get through to the next round of the CL lol? I don't even give United a chance vs Olympiacos lol....

Thats the kind of thinking some EPL fans have.
Sadly trying to convince people that love the EPL that its only covered more making seem better is not possible. There is Biased thoughts and just comparing NFL to soccer is just sad itself. The EPL was definitely better at one point but that changes just like everything.

Adu has had some games where he played great. I remember the game you're talking about and Adu was the best player for the US that day. The problem with Adu is that he then has several games where his play is poor. So let's pretend that we take him to the World Cup as a starter and he has one brilliant game, which means he plays poorly the next two. We need players who consistently play at a high level, and are capable of producing brilliant moments. Adu does not play at a consistently high level, but he is capable of producing the most brilliant moments when he is on. It's just not enough.

Ahhh parity. Yes, the EPL does have parity. I think we can all agree on that.

We all do know what parity means, right? The state or condition of being equal.

Meaning, that the EPL has more teams that are closer in quality to one another, than say the Bundesliga and La Liga (are we all in agreement these are the top 3 leagues?). (I'm not even going to bother with La Liga, because its disparity is greater than both)

According to Champions League results, I'd say the EPL has a bit of an advantage so far, no? United(8th in EPL) just throttled Leverkusen(2nd in BDL) home and away. Chelsea(3rd) did the same to Schalke(6th). Arsenal(1st) split with Dortmund(3rd) and City(2nd) split with Bayern(1st).

So since the EPL has more parity, I'd say the bottom half of the table is closer in quality to the top of the table, rather than vice versa. Therefore, making it an overall better league.

Overexposed and overrated are not the same thing.
