Another promising American youth player is in England trialing with various English clubs.

Alonzo Clarke of the U-16 BSC Academy has been trialing with English clubs the past week. Recently he trialed with Blackpool and was immediately offered a spot on their U-18 team.

He will be trialing with Manchester United youth academy this week.

Nicholas Tatigue recently trialed with Manchester United youth academy as well.

Danny Barbir another promising American youth player joined Manchester City's youth academy.

Also Liverpool would like to bring in Brooks Lennon to their academy system.

It seems that American youth players are becoming a much sought after commodity in Europe.

Doesn't mean these guys will pan out, or even stay with those teams, but it's good to see American youth soccer players are starting to get noticed.

With the amount of youth going abroad it will def increase the chances of producing that CL American World Class player. If not it increases the chances of star players for national team. Just to much Exciting stuff happening for US soccer for the future.

Heard Alonzo Clarke is training with Man U reserves right now. Wonder why he hasn't been looked at by the US.

Good article and update on Clarke:

I think choosing Man U would be a no brainer.. But you never want to disappoint your parents..
Still wondering why Perez(u18s coach) hasn't called him up yet.

Its not as easy as youd think. Sometimes its easier to break into a lesser team. Look at Southampton. How many of those guys would have got EPL minutes at 20 if they were at Man U? Instead they get minutes, they produce, and they get big transfers. Thats a decent way to approach things

I totally agree, that's why I was surprised when he turned down a contract from Blackpool. Because I thought he could of gotten first team minutes there sooner than he would a Man U. He seems set on Man U or going to college, honestly I believe that Blackpool deal would of been the better move in the long run.

Anyone could get first 11 minutes for Blackpool right now - they have a butcher, baker and candlestick maker out there... Making his decision more awkward. Good luck to Clarke, college isn't the worst depending on the program.
