EJ tweets this: "When one door closes another opens."

Sounds like EJ may be on his way out of Seattle.

Not surprised. Seattle has incoming Sean Okoli who is a talented homegrown prospect at striker. And in one or two years Jordan Morris will be coming in as well. They have Zavaleta, Dempsey, Neagle and Martins on the books right now, with Okoli likely to be signed as a homegrown player in the coming months.

EJ I think was always seen as a short term answer for Seattle, and has been a slight distraction in the locker room this season.

What's next for EJ? DC United could be the likely destination. Europe is a possibility.

But he may find himself on the outside looking in for the USMNT soon as well.

What about an EJ to LA? LA def can splash the money. Only Question is how much money does EJ want? DP or not? Regardless I will not be shocked as an LA fan if EJ went to Galaxy. Considering he is proven to score and Galaxy need another player to attack. Something they lost with magee and Rodgers trade. Opinion 2tone?

Doubt he comes to LA to many attackers here. Besides la wont waste $ on him. Maybe dc, san jose, philly, chicago, some teams like that.

Too much attackers? Maybe but not proven attackers. I mean is that why they only relied on Donovan and Keane? RSL neutralized them both and look what happened. Zardes is a nice peace but he still learning the LM role. LA need someone that can win headers and play as a target forward. You can have ST - Johnson CF - Keane LM - Zardes and RM - Donovan.
Might not be Johnson but the fact is that we need a 3rd player that can score and attack in set pieces. As good as Donovan and Keane are they were missing the 3rd player and with that can only get us as far as they did this season.

Zardes, villareal will be better next season and will get extended mins. And even mc bean will get quality mins. ej is good but dont think he fits in with Galaxy. Plus LA wont offer him as much $ as other teams. Ej stated earlier he wants to get paid. Im sure Galaxy will make big moves in the offseason. As for ej a transfer to a euro team, say in france, holland, or low level epl team could help him out a lot.

I cannot understand Seattle's logic here at all. They want Eddie gone but made a move for Kenny Cooper? Are they intentionally trying to regress? I understand that they used all their DP spots but I would much rather have EJ than Martins or Rosales at this point and I'd find a way to keep him.

The latest rumors have DC United, the Galaxy and Chivas USA as the front runners to land him. I'd love to see EJ in DC but Seattle has been one of the most enjoyable teams to watch this season and my interest will surely wane without EJ.

I didn't realize that Seattle shipped Rosales to Chivas. Right so they have two DPs on their roster then? All the more puzzling to me. Dempsey + EJ should be the backbone of their win now core.

Skangles, Alonso is a DP now I believe. I'm hoping EJ does come to DC. He'll have his "put up or shut up" opportunity and we will get the in-form goal scorer we've lacked. He'll have to screw up pretty bad to fall out of the NT picture wherever he goes

I think he will end up in LA if they don't get Klose. But Galaxy has a lot of attacking options already and wright might emerge next yr as a solid fwd option. He should go to chivas usa, lol maybe ill go watch a few of their games

Word is SEA will be letting him go for less than what they consider to be his "full" value, so I could see LA snatching him but DC has allocation money, which essentially equals more financial flexibility so that might factor into the equation also.

Johnson was shipped to DC for allocation money. DC looks like they are committed to putting together a playoff caliber roster to help them get their stadium deal

Should be a fun offense to watch this year if they are all healthy. 4-4-2 with

Korb, Boswell, Jakovic, Franklin
Kitchen, Arnaud
Deleon, Silva, Pontius
Johnson

I expect Deleon and Pontius to reappear on the USMNT scope by the end of next season. With Johnson for other defenses to plan around, Pontius may actually get single-covered once in a while.

DC's not yet a playoff caliber team in my opinion though, they still need to get a few pieces to fill in the gaps. One big DP signing should still be to come if they are really committed to the next season. Eto'o perhaps?

A different perspective on the EJ deal. He's right, EJ is not THAT good to use a DP spot on. But he's surely good enough to beat out "Own Goal" as DCs top scorer next year.

We only wish those two things were related. For the most part the only reason we have cash to splash is because we have salaries off the books, got the "You Suck" allocation money, and CCL allocation money, plus unspent funds from the Najar to Anderlecht deal

DC could be a dangerous team next season. And yes the EJ trade opens things up for Pontius, who was getting doubled up or even tripled teamed quite a bit last season.
