Why not there are several players already starting in the biggest clubs in the world between the ages of 18-22. Why not American players. I bet by 2018 those barriers will be broken. You giys are just being negative and ignorent.

It definitely can happen only barriers are Europeans themselves. You seen how our players are treated when they go England or maybe even any other league. Just look at Jozy lol getting criticize day in and out. In order for an american to gain respect of a European fan they must prove a lot more than the typical European player. It definitely possible but extremely tough.

It's not negative or ignorAnt, just very unlikely. I think we will have more kids those ages starting in European clubs, some in the EPL and like, but the biggest clubs......most likely not. Right now, US kids those ages are starting at clubs like Molde, MLS clubs, midtable EPL U21s.....so in 4 years our kids are going to make the jump from squads like that to Barca, Madrid (either one), Bayern, Dortmund, City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, PSG, etc etc. Highly unlikely.

USA has a hugee contingeent of players between the ages of 12-18 in top leagues/academies world wide easily close to 500. and USA academies is starting to become one of the best world wide. So to say at least 10 20.maybe 30 American players under 24 not starting in the best clubs in the world is insane.

Is funny when I see someone post on platers like green, Henley, cash Wallace, barbir, Perez, Flores, taitague, Rubin, canouse ext.... is players I known about for a long time. Maybe by 2018 you guys will feel like idiots, and stupid when yall see players many here never heard of on the global stage and will be all up on their sack.

Sorry kid, given your posts, I'm positive I've been around longer than you by a good margin. Funny thing is you even joined the same time I did.

500 12-18 year olds in top leagues? So in like 6 years we could fill, just about, every EPL team with all 500 of those kids. How crazy is that going to be ??? I can't wait for City, Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea to throw out starting 11's of all American kids in 2020.
If you don't love it, leave it, USA #1

Includes all south America, And Liga MX. I could be wrong there could be maybe even more. And across all europe. their all in academies/youth teams, is no guarantee all will be great down the road maybe 1 out of every 50 will make it to the first team who knows. But the future looks really good. 2018 and beyond should be when USA turns the corner and becomes a powerhouse.
