I sure hope this doesn't happen and will knock on wood at the same time but the way Jones is losing the ball is the same way that R. Clark cost us the goal with Ghana in R16 in 2010 WC (losing the ball in mid, triggeirng a counter attack). Obviously Jones is better than R.Clark but I mean their tendency to lose the ball in the midfield causes a counter attack from the opposing team and maybe even a goal. I don't understand how JK doesnt see this but cmon. Jones was good in 2010 because the whole USA team was in "rebuilding mode" But now the team is much better and have outgrown him. Man How i wish JK gave another pairing a chance. He just doesnt wanna risk that "chemistry" even though Bradley is better of with another partner. Its funny we were all right about Cameron in RB now its Jones time to get out of Starting XI.

I'm in full agreement. Jones is a detriment to the team and he holds Bradley back. Klinsmann likes that Jones is physical, which can be a good thing, but he is careless at times going forward, he is loose in possession and at times lazily tracks back.

Not even close

Schalke 04 > Eintracht Frankfurt

Jones drops the long on a dime and stretches out the field. Its just a bad combination with him and bradley.

Like i said on the other thread. Shouldve played one half with jones/Diskerud and Bradley/Kljestan just to see

Yea of course jones has better play but he is costing us possession was the idea. Regardless yes we should have seen a Mix Bradley or Sacha Bradley. JK too stubborn

Jones has been partnering Bradley for so long yet it still doesnt work. Its hard to drop a guy whos competing week in week out in champions league. However the problem with jones is his inability to let bradley go forward. US is most dangerous with bradley forward problem is jones goes forward a lot also. We need a straight cdm to pair with bradley jones needs to stop playing box to box and stay back.

It's a harsh statement but a fair assessment of yesterday's performance. Far too many missed passes, given away balls, and passes that were received but were then immediately turned over. We must not be doing enough close control/trapping training before these matches, seemed like everyone had mostly bad first touches.

sorry, but clark was NEVER this CONSISTENTLY poor for US and is better than he was 4 years ago.

yea, at this point ill take clark at a 6 over jones. bundesliga, UCL and everything. just done with that guy and never was very impressed

clark or no clark the fact is that jones has now become a HUGE problem for USMNT

So players that are struggling are being compared to past inconsistent players. So id guess at this point Casey> Jozy. only cause he is not scoring lately. C'mon Jones is much better than Clark even on a bad day.

WHo in the world said Casey>Jozy? Its about not being blind that if Jones keep losing stupid balls we are going to get punished. Nothing against Jones but this are the things that cost us early goals and went down having us chase the game to 90. Midfield in the world cup are Important and if we keep having this we are not going nowhere. It doesnt matter if Jones plays CL if he isnt performing with us than he needs to know with action. I mean Sacha for example plays CL and he doesnt get the same treatment as jones and we still havent seen him partner with Bradley.

Now now, every opinion is valid. Just because you don't agree with his conclusions doesn't mean that he doesn't know what he's talking about...

We've broached the topic of "good vs. concacaf-level competition vs. good vs. WC-level competition" and I always thought Clark was in the former.

Not disagreeing Jones has been off (to put it lightly) but once again you're dodging the fact that Jones starts against the best opponents and rarely starts against the worst.

Your stats are rain stats. Accurate stats, but like always, they don't tell the whole truth.

Exactly, this is why I hate stats. Too many varying factors involved.
