For those that are being a bit dramatic after the loss today, Spain and Belgium lost as well.

I think this world cup euro teams wont do much. The only team that has a good chance is Germany other than that i don't see Spain, or Italy, or France, Holland doing much.

Cocacaf is EXTREMLY disappointing so far. Costa Rica lost to Australia, USA lost to Austria, Honduras most likely will lose to Ecuador, and Mexico is in playoffs against new Zealand. And please don't get me started on Canada maybe top 20 worse team in the planet.

So Cameron over evans that was proven today gonzo looked good. Aron play ok but jozy didn't help him much but jozy did look better when Boyd got into the game wings looked like crap. Losing isn't a big deal but how we are playing is a little concerning.

Brooks wont start this wc but is a star in the making. He just needs to work on is positioning and communication. He has a great upside for me.

Not that it is news, but EJ on the wing just doesn't work. He was played into dangerous positions many times today only for EJ to dribble the ball out of bounds; end up playing the ball backwards; or serving an anemic cross. LD in that position generates 2-4 more solid opportunities.

Embarrassing? I think that is going a little far.

The US had some very good chances and did score a goal by the way.

I think the US lacked a bit of guile and creativity something I think both Donovan and Deuce can provide.

Anyone still think those two should not be on the WC team?

Oh and the book is out on Bedoya. He will always look to cut inside. Not once did he try to take a player on by going on the outside. Personally I think the USMNT has looked better with Zusi at RW. But that will be a moot point once Donovan is back.

I say try bedoya on the left side, since he is somewhat effective on the right imagine what he might be able to do when actually cutting in on his stronger foot from the left.

embarrassing FOR USA couldn't score a goal and let alone lose to a mediocre team. i know no fabian, lando, demps, but c'mon we have no depth that's the problem. we simply rely on the same players as always. no excusesohh at least we played good and looked good. id rather have usa play terrible get outshot, and outpossed than lose. At the end results mattrer and usa failed. I am not confident going into wprld cup. I think our best shot is to play a 4-4-2 and counter the whole game.

You honestly would rather have the US play the worst soccer of their careers, look absolutely foolish against the Men's National Team of Monaco and win the game, as opposed to, say, play brilliant football against Brazil and lose 1-0? I truly can't comprehend your idiocy. It's impossible for me to wrap my head around it. "Results are the only thing that matters" is the most narrow-minded, atypical American idea of sports. It makes you sound so unintelligent. It's not all about results.

Sorry, I probably used too many large words for you. I'll simplify for you: Results aren't the be-all-end-all.

But please, enlighten me.

It a bit disappointing that the second half Austria had no interest in attacking so when you think about it they gave us more room and became an absolute brick in the def.
Austria was playing to win with everything they threw at us.
Notes of games:
I just dont understand E. Johnson as LW.
jones could be the R. Clark of 2014 and can cost us goals if he plays like this.
Cameron at RB is something that has been said for JK but he is too stubborn to actually make that his legit spot.
Beasly position costs us the goal.
Shea not a starter.
Bedoya isnt doing it at RW in a more superior level outside of Concacaf.
AJ is no CAM and seems like he might be that special super sub.

People get to worked up over friendlies. Winning or not winning a game 7 months out from the WC has no bearing on how well that team will play in the tournament itself.

Calm the hyperbole.

Losing may be a blessing in disguise though because that shows JK and this team in general that there is ALOT of work to do.
Btw what are peoples opinions on JONES, should he be out?

Hard to judge the second half. Austria seemed to take their foot off the gas quite a bit. For all that Jones did wrong, he did quite a bit well in that first half. Honestly we looked pretty good in the first half. We had some very nice passing that set up a couple chances. With donovan in for Bedoya and maybe Fabian for Beasley, the outcome would have been much different. Still not sure what to do about the cbs. Gonzo makes too many mistakes and a better team will make us pay. Judging by his performance, Brooks may still be too young but to be fair he hasnt played in a while. I maintain that Cameron and Besler have the potential to be our best pairing. Problem with that is that he may be our best option at RB and he doesn't play there week in and week out. Dolo, Chandler, and Fabian all need to come back to the team. Hard to judge the subs as they came in when the game was settling a bit. Kljestan did okay with the time he was given. I reallly hope people now see that Cameron is a solid player for us.

it's official... klinsmann is running an absolute circus

1) brek shea - nobody with half a brain thought shea deserved to be on this roster and anyone with 1/4 of a brain realized that starting that BS was the quickest way to destroy any confidence gained against scotland. wow, a guy who has not been getting games for club in well over a year did absolutely nothing? shocking. good use of PT JK

2) in 44 games, JK has managed to start his 2 best CMs - bradley and kljestan - exactly ZERO times. bravo! well done with all your ingenious "experimenting"

3) at the end of the game you had 3 CMs and 3 forwards on the field. ever heard of a 4-3-3? pretty fun little set-up - actually allows you to play ALL your CM centrally and ALL your forwards forward

brooks - actually thought he was solid. dont see where he is at all at fault on the goal. had to go with near post run. gonzo needed to be closer to scorer

gonzo - guilty on goal. was slow to react when pass went out wide and slow to close down scorer. hes not there yet

beasley - perfect demonstration of why we need fabian back there. atrocious positioning on multiple occasions

cameron - he was ok, but got very sloppy with the ball in 2nd half. better than evans

jones - final nail in coffin. with JKs devotion to him at an 8, his presence on the team actually makes us worse. maybe can play a 6 but his days at 8 are past.

bradley - extremely poor outing. unusually careless in possession

shea - see above

bedoya - has now started 9 of last 11. hustle is not enough. not im my 23

johannsson - blew a big chance to claim a job. seemed to lose possession every time he touched the ball. one good shot on goal and very little else

altidore - not great. not bad

JK has made one thing perfectly clear. this team will live or die with jermaine jones next to MB.

good luck with that

Please

no more:

Beasley at left back
Bedoya
EJ on wing
Break shea as a starter

Never thought I'd say this but jermaine jones should not start (has to be him or bradley on the field)

@ rainORshine

You make too much sense. LOL

although, I'm on the fence with kljestan. I use to hate that guy
