That's about as good as we're going to get. You going to be at the draw?

If it makes anyone feel better, I am in the middle of a career on fifa 14, and just simmed through the WC as the USMNT. Were in a group with Romania, Netherlands, and Egypt. We drew Netherlands in the first match, then beat Romania and Egypt.

AND THEN THE FUN BEGAN.

Remember, I simmed all this. We took down Greece 2-0 in the round of 16, then took down Brazil 1-0 in the QF's (HA), then Uruguay 1-0 in the semis (HAHAHA), and finally took down France in the finals, 2-1 in extra time. And guess who got the game-winning goal in the 117th minute? FREDDY FREAKIN ADU.

Moral of the story: If video games are all-knowing (let's be honest, they are), then the USMNT will be winning the 2014 World Cup behind a Freddy Adu goal.

Anyone have any ideas on how the pots should be arranged? FIFA does not want any CONFEDERATION besides UEFA being able to play against each other in the group stages.

Should CONCACAF be paired with UEFA's playoff winners in a pot?

Should FIFA find a way to put CONFEDERATION group winners in a pot?

In a WC like this where it's such a strong field, I don't think it matters how the pots are done. This is one of the strongest WC's in the modern era. There will be no easy group no matter what anyone states.

Jus did another simulation:

Belgium
USA
Chile
Russia

The US finished first with Belgium taking second. The US will meet Costa Rica in the round of 16. After that in the round of 8 it's either Colombia or Australia. The way the draw happened the US has a favorable outlook to get to the final 4.

lol i wouldnt go that far my friend not by a lonngggggggggggg shot!!! But it is not that far fetched to have a concept where Adu comes on as a late sub and could score a goal. I think Adu will be most effective on the team in the case we are down and need a goal late, that is when you bring him on the last 20min of a game... I think JK will bring in a HUGE selection of players for his last camp..He really has no choice. The current roster with the exception of like 5 players just is not good enough v World Class A. Teams with only 3 subs. No more Friendlies and 6. or Experimental Friendly rosters....he will need players that have proven on the National side they can make some magic.

I didn't have the team winning the group, the simulator had the US winning its group while Costa Rica placed Second in their group. Group winners face teams that placed second in their Group.

If people didn't realize the simulator simulates the group games as well.

Pot 1 - Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland
Pot 2 - CONCACAF, ASIA
Pot 3 - Ghana, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Nigeria, Cameroon, France, Chile, Ecuador
Pot 4 - Holland, England, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Bosnia, Croatia, Russia

Here is my opinion on how we stack up against the competition:

Pot 1 - these teams are all better than the U.S. for a reason, although Colombia, Switzerland, and Belgium have proven nothing internationally, yet.

Pot 2 - will not play against these teams in group stage, but I think the U.S. is the best in the pot, followed by Japan and Mexico.

Pot 3 - France is better, Ghana is "our daddy" to use Pedro Martinez-speak, Chile has some decent players but I am not scared of them or Ecuador. We are better than the rest, Ivory Coast always fall apart in big tournaments.

Pot 4 - The Dutch are fantastic and should be seeded over the Swiss. Italy is good on their day but the new project isnt going so smoothly. Nobody wants to see Ronaldo in their group, but after that? Greece? Bosnia? Russia? Croatia? England? Those 5 teams are beatable for sure.

Saying all that I just simulated the draw and got Belgium, USA, Ecuador, England. In a group like that it really just comes down to playing the games one by one. Because of the 3 game format, a victory or at least draw in the first game is paramount. Would we have learned anything from the two games v Belgium we've played? A unlikely draw against them, and I would like our chances. I dont think much of England, and Ecuador has been down a bit since the death of Benitez last year, barely hanging on in qualification, and they will not have the altitude factor.

You do realize Belgium beat the brakes off us while not even really trying...OR having their full roster correct?? You better think highly of these teams because they can dust the floor with us. I've done quite a few simulations and most of them we are put in a extremely hard group. You better take ALL SOUTH AMERICAN TEAMS SERIOUS where do you come off not being afraid of teams of this caliber such as England and Ecuador? WTF have we beat that were Full Strength A squads that were not Friendlies using 6 subs and experimental lineups?

Did you miss the words, "unlikely draw". I watched almost every single CONMEBOL qualifier to be honest with you, Ecuador isnt that great. Neither is England, which is also in a transitioal period.
Do I need to go back and re-edit my post for someone like you?
CONMEBOL-
Brazil #1
Argentina #2
Uruguay #3
Colombia #4
Chile #5
Ecuador #6

UEFA-
Spain #1
Germany #2
Netherlands #3
France #4
Belgium #5
Portugal #6
Swiss #7
Italy #8
England #9
Russia #10
Greece #11
Bosnia #12
Croatia #13

AFRICA -
Ghana #1
Algeria #2
Ivory Coast #3
Nigeria #4
Cameroon #5

That should be easier for you to read. I never said we would beat Belgium. I said that the first game in the group is super important, like the game in '06 that I also went to like the person who posted on a previous page in the thread. We never even had a chance to play in the game after the Eddie Pope/ Jan Koller disaster. We were behind the eight ball from that point through the Ghana game, always playing at a disadvantage because of the 3 game format.

Now tell me, why do you like England so much?

This simulator thing is getting annoying. Cant wait for the draw, is going to be amazing. By the looks of it looks like USA is going to get a very tough group.
