According to Eric Gomez. Mexico are going to do everything they can to keep each and every Mexican-American by paying them more than MLS and making this promise that they will become future stars with exposures from the Liga MX and European Loans. So for example Luis Gil playing in MLS would gain Mexican Fed attention and offer him a bucket load of money to steal him from club and maybe even take him from national team. Apparently it seems like Mexico is angry with what the USA did that they wanna harm our national team and how it benefited from Mexican AMerican. Although not worrying most Mexican AMerican either feel American, or Mexican. There are those who cant make it in Mexico so come here. But I guess Mexico's intention is to cap them so they cant play for the USA. Opinions I will link video segment in Soccer Morning.

No offense to Mexico, but if their best can't beat our 5th most popular sport why would our kids want to even play for them. The USMNT is better than the MexNT and over time there likely will be a very big gap.

Mexico have never and likely will never be a world football power like Germany or Brazil are. We do have that potential.

I think your absolutely right Red. Mexico as a nation doesn't have the potential to be a world power at least no constantly. We as a country have that potential, now atm Mexico has the upper hand because there league is better paid and quality. Regardless I am not afraid. First of all this is just a reaction on how bad Mexico has been and now they just wanna hurt us. Second many Mexican-American will come to us if they feel american like Arriola, Gil and Villareal to name a few. So we get patriotic filter there. Third point Mexico are such sore losers that they wanna hurt us even after WE saved them way to thank us.

Would love to see the source whenever it becomes available. Lotta question marks about that from a strategic perspective. Even as they can pay more, players will take a pay cut if it means steady playing time given that is the true key to improving. Also doesn't seem to be wise to ever try to employ a strategy of just capping players to get them tied to Mexico. That will backfire on them in the long-run once the players catch on.

Additionally even if they can throw money at players, a young guy who is a key cog in a good team might not want to leave a comfortable situation.

Yea me and 2tone Apparently were watching soccer morning and this bombshell just hit us lol
Although its worrying for players like Gil, or Arriola or Villareal. We also should note that Mexico will not be able to take players all ready abroad.
For example to name a few
Mario Rodriguez - Borussia Mon
Joshua Perez - Florentina
Junior FLorez - Borussia Dort
We gotta worry about talent here in the states and Mexico.

I would love if this were true. It will crush the Mexican Federation. Throwing away money at unknown kids as opposed to developing and stregthening your academies and youth systems. Great plan. Also lets get all these 17-20 year olds to get massive egos because they've been handed more money than imaginable so they dont need to work hard anymore. And finally lets piss off the core veterans to not want to represent us anymore. Great strategy Mexico.

HAHA I was thinking of that. How can not only pay immense money to kids but even promise them European star statues.?? Not only that but they are spending extra money just harm us when they are going to harm themselves?

I could care less

MLS will become an attractive league sooner than later and theres nothing mexico can do about it.

Besides, mexican talent is cool and all but they are not producing any world class talent. I'll take a brazilian american or argentine american over a mexican amercican any day.

We need to tap into our african american demographic anyways.....

They are bigger, faster, stronger, and can jump higher than any mexican/mexican american... Go look at eddie johnsons goal in the us vs mexico game.

Both Junior Flores and Joshua Perez are of El Salvadoran roots, not Mexican.

Joshua Perez is nephew to former USMNT FWD/Mid El Salvadoran-American Hugo Perez.

Mexican scouts and U-17 coaches approached Flores back in 2011. So this aggressive approach has already been implemented somewhat by Mexico. The Mexico coach asked if he had Mexican acestory, and he told them that he didn't. Flores was quite surprised to have that happen.
