I'm wondering the same. I'm sure he was banking on getting the work permit first, then getting the appeal which was denied in May.

Him and his agent really are a piece of work. I dont know if they realize that the bundelsiga talent wise can be just as good as the premier league. Werder Bremen is a good club take the deal especially after it became obivous you werent going to be allowed to play in england. lol cue the dozens of foreign players rushing to buy property in cyprus to get an eu passport so they wont have to deal with the stupid English work permit system.

Anyone want to take a bet with me right now that this will NOT work? I'll give you good odds for the "will work out" position.

Being reported that Wolves are interested, but it's not clear if they're looking to sign him or just allowing him to train in a structured environment.

It looks like Juan's trial has been extended for another week. Apparently he played well in a behind closed door friendly against QPR.

Sounds like a copout to me...if you were really interested in him, fitness level should be one of the lower concerns, especially when you know that he hasn't had game time in a while. Spend a few weeks with him individually to get him back up to game speed, get him a few games before the January window and if he isn't up to your fitness levels by then, loan him out.

The kid is still only 21, got plenty of time to make something happen.

Wow Juan situation really getting frustrating.
Juan should pick a dang club and work his way from there. He is in no position to choose where he wants to play.
At this rate Rubio Rubin will surpass him in usmnt pecking order

Great post, couldn't agree more. I would say that playing for a League Two team at a third of your expected salary is better than playing for no one and getting no wage.

LOL, the kid wanted to get out of MLS and play European ball so badly, yet at this point he has essentially destroyed his Euro opportunity by not taking the chances hes been givin and thinking he is some kind of star that can chose to play where ever he damn well feels. Now if Wolves won't even touch him the only place he has left is to either to return the MLS or possibly head to Scandivania.

I'll say it again, to spurn a return to Utrecht and an offer from Werder Bremen was INCREDIBLY stupid, especially after getting turned away from England twice! Just establish yourself as a good forward in the Bundesliga or the Eredivise and you'll get your chances in england! Hell, find any team, and re-establish yourself with USMNT again, and before you can blink your eyes you'll be in England.

I am not going to attack the guy. We all make dumb decisions.

What I will say is this: sometimes you have to take two steps backwards in order to move one step forward.

Make of that as you will, Juan.

Really? And what happens if Juan still goes with Cyprus property route and does something ridiculous like try to play in Serbian League? Still not worth calling him out for overt stupidity?
