So New Zealand released their roster and it includes a 20 year old with no caps to his name. Here is there most important game since 2010 and they bring in a 20 year old who plays in their domestic league (technically australian league but NZ doesnt have their own).

When people here suggested calling guys like Brooks or Yedlin or Arriola or Gil for qualifiers that didnt matter because we already qualified lots of people said it wasnt the time and we should wait until jan camp. I find it funny that the NZ coach brings him for their biggest game but we wont bring in 20 year old pros for friendlies.

Have you ever thought that they have absolutely NO DEPTH! They're like the USMNT circa 1998.

I'm all for bringing in players like Brooks, Yedlin, Arriola, Gil, etc...

I think it gives them a reason to train harder. I think it promotes other youth players to train harder knowing they have a chance of being called in for friendlies. It increases competition and pushes the current 23 to make sure no one can completely relax.

Well, I did not expect the first post in this thread to be about New Zealand given the train wreck that has been the Mexican national team. Way to go MSantoine, keeping us on our toes.

Honestly they will bunker like they've never bunkered before. If they score in Azteca, I legitimately will be shocked.

The best shot they have is getting out of there with a tie. Not sure but do away goals count in concacaf playoffs ?

There is this little thing called the World Cup happening next summer, maybe you have heard of it? There are only a handful of competitive matches our starters can play together before that time. Yet you advocated bringing in a bunch of uncapped guys. People like you just make me shake my head in disbelief.

Chris Wood will give the weak Mexican backline all they can handle. If blas perez and costly gave them trouble, Wood is just as good as those two, with fresher legs. I think that NZ has plenty in the tank to scrape a 1-1 draw...

Not calling in their best players will be mexico's waterloo

I'm calling for one of the most boring matches in history. I honestly believe NZ will play at Azteca with as many on the backline as possible not even worrying about any shots on goal for their side. Kind of like how some high school girls basketball teams dribble the ball in one spot the entire game not even passing the ball trying to make sure the more dominate team does not get quality chances to shoot the ball, and the game ends up like 5-6 lol... I think back home in NZ they will try to score and sneak into the WC.

New Zealand will play the vaunted 6-4-0 at Azteca, and Mexico will end tied 0-0 going to New Zealand.

New Zealand will get a scrappy 1-0 result at home and knock Mexico out.

In no way will this series produce good soccer, and really New Zealand could care less if they play well. What matters is winning and going on to the WC.

Brazil had given caps to 9 players U23 in the last year
Holland 14!!!
England 13!!

We've capped just 6. Those include the 10 min cameo from wood, GATT and Agudelo (none since January) and the just recently added brooks and Aro So who is doing it right. Brazil and mergers or USA?
