Away goals is a good rule because it lessens the likelihood of penalties. It's fair because it applies for both teams and sort of makes sense because it is harder to score on the road. It discourages teams from simply parking the bus on the road and it makes for some really exciting games because a team can go from losing to winning from just one goal. But the first point is by far the most important. Penalties are a horrible way to decide a game and need to be avoided. As long as there's nothing else wrong with the rule (and there isn't, there's nothing unfair about it and it doesn't change the nature of the game, as giving 2 goals for a goal scored outside of the 18 would, for example), if it reduces the chances of penalties, it's a good idea.

Please explain why away goals are "bush league." Oh, and they're not just euro, South Americans use it too, as do Asians (and probably Africans too). If there's a rule everyone uses it's probably a good idea.

What part of the country do you live in then. Everywhere I've heard of have football and soccer at the same season. Both are fall sports and cant play both at the same time

Here in Wyoming High School soccer is played in the spring. Hence some football players can play soccer as well.

@2tone & reclycled. Did not no that. I assumed all high school sports would follow the same general guidelines as college with their time frames.

I still think admsghs27 went to high school for 7 years
