Not sure about Horvath but Castano was signed to a HGP at 17 so he has to be pretty good to be signed at 17

how good are castano and horvath?? to me the defense looks solid if the keepers continue to be the U.S. strong suit

The best CBs for this team right now are in college. The best goalkeeper is Steffen at U of Maryland.

Horvath is better than castano, it will be a good fight between horvath and steffen for the number one spot.

Ive seen Steffen play he is good. And its a big step in the right direction if our "solid" team if not our "best" team on paper looks very good. and thats without some of the other attacking names in the same age group but apparently ahead in development: arriola, holmes, gil

Holmes and Gil are not in the same age group. They were '93 and '94 age group. This is the '95 and '96 age group. Arriola may skip the U-20's if Klinsmann decides he is USMNT material already.

Knowing JK and from what he said they arent USMNT level just...I mean he doesnt want to rush them and that under stable we dont want another adu or young Jozy BUT definitely will need looks with they're talent and creativity sooner rather than later. After world cup 2014 if they are doing well like Jack Mac was doing before call up then they may get training. Anyways JK prob wants all the Gil, Yedlin, Holmes, Arriola, Garzas of the world to go through U23 and the Olympics experience of course.
Maybe JK makes friendlies after WC for these youngsters since im pretty sure we wont have a camp cupcake this January. Getting these guys ready for U23 who knows that would be exciting. I believe JK will put emphasize in this Olympic since we know what happened before. Anyways with that he will build a squad for Russia 2018 with an even bigger pool that involve players like Altidore, Aron Johansson, Mix and players like Gil, Yedlin etc etc.
After 2014 there alot of great things to look forward cant wait. Ladies and Gents hang on to your seat belts it gets faster from here.

Is this really the Italy under 20, or the Hellas Verona Prima vera?

So a 4-1 loss to Hellas Verona academy today for the new crop of U-20's. A lot of work to do for Ramos', who IMO still has a lot of questions concerning him as a coach.

But really it's the start of the new cycle. He will be judged come 2015. But I will say this Javier Perez usually gets his US U-18 teams on the same page and playing well for their camps. Most of these players that Ramos' called in have all performed well under Javier Perez.

Does anyone know if Tab used another ridiculously aggressive formation with very little cover for the defense? If he did, and he really learnt nothing from the WC, I don't want him as coach. I really don't think it helps a player grow if you allow them to attack relentlessly and be paranoid and helpless knowing on the counter they will be annihilated. I think it will just end up irritating the players.
