i agree that we shouldnt play bedoya at wing back... but what if someone had told u evans would play wing back.... i mean like come on nothing is really as ridiculous as evans playing wing back and scoring a game winner away from home to keep our qualifying campaign on track.... like what if i told u that a year ago

Not really Brad Evans has played at RB for Seattle and Columbus numerous times. And Klinsmann has always viewed Evans as a defender.

Maybe the word ridiculous isn't right, but it's a little speculative to put Bedoya at RWB when he played that position once for 10 minutes.

Bedoya with a goal and a good pass that resulted in a missed PK for Nantes today.

Bedoya is becoming a crucial player For Nantes. He went 90 at RW and CAM.

Nantes won 2-1. They are in 5th place.

I would say as long as he stays healthy he is probably close to being a lock for the WC team.

Kind of off-topic, but I didn't want to create another thread. Anyone know if today's Championship matches are available to live stream online? I'd love to watch Reading and see how Williams is looking.

whatever... more silly "2tone stats" (using production to support an idea)...

JUST KIDDING

i agree that if bedoya is having a consistent positive influence at nantes - and this is another example that he is - then it becomes very hard to make a case against him

But where does he play for the USMNT? I've never really been sold that he's a winger, and I don't think he's ahead of either Dempsey or Donovan at CAM. Possibly a sub, then?

he is definitely a bit a 'tweener' at the international level, which is the primary argument against him

but if he is on good form in france and playing with a lot of confidence, yea he is basically an option at any of the attacking spots either wide or possibly central 'CAM' role as well. if its starter definitely outside (where JK has played him almost exclusively)

Always liked Bedoya except that he isn't a winger. But he still is quality. I hope he continues to work on his RAM/RM/RW positions and what to do besides just trying to cut into the box. Maybe learn to cross something he doesn't provide and we desperately need as we have taller players.

Any thoughts if Bedoya moves to a bigger club after the 2014 world cup? Obviously not PSG or Monacco but maybe a fighting spot in Marseille team a CL team.
Or maybe a move to a mid english team or Germany or Italy. A Europe League team in another league. Thoughts about Bedoya overall?

He's perfect as a reserve. Can fill several spots if suspension/injury crop up. The reserves should mostly be about versatility so if/when the suspensions come up you still have bench options

well he just got to nantes... who are doing very well, only a point out of europa spot. i think this is as good as can be expected. will be 27 in the spring...

if i had to guess, id be surprised if bedoya made another move up in his career. couple years at nantes will probably put him at the edge of his 'peak' years - for bedoya 25-29 or so. cant really see him hanging around for 2018, when he will be 31

has done very well to get to this point. enjoy it

Yea you prob are right. It all depends how well he plays during his career peak that will determine another jump. Because as we all know our player tend to bloom late. But might not improve that much more but i hope

I could see him move up to reserve/12th man on a perenial UCL team. Those teams usually bring in a 29-31 year old solid veteran when they are breaking in a new 19-20 year old.

He's never impressed me for the Nats but he is getting PT at a very good Ligue 1 team, which now makes his club resume much, much better than our other wing/attacking mid options (save for Dempsey and Donovan, who are past it anyway though), who pretty much all suck. We need to give him more chances at try him out at different positions...I think RM is his worst, I'd love to see him as an LM or CAM (though I think it'll have to be LM since Deuce is the #10).

Bedoya with his second goal in 3 days. Nantes beat Marseille today on the strength of Bedoya's lone goal. Dude is tearing it up right now.
