Bedoya had the game winner and lone goal today for Nantes which has moved them into 4th place in Ligue 1.

I really like the thought of Bedoya at LW for the Nats. He naturally likes to cut inside on his right foot, and he is far more dangerous at LW IMO.

Impressive start of his Nantes career.

yeah he could probably thrive there. Is that where he played today with Nantes? From what I've seen in the past few qualifiers he is really good a cutting inside. Putting him on the left could drastically enhance his effectiveness.

I agree with this, especially because he hasn't show much crossing ability in comparison to guys like Zusi and Donovan who play on our right side.

This was a great move. His club CV is now so much more impressive than our other wingers/attacking mids (save for Donovan and Dempsey). He needs to get more PT and the chance to prove himself for the NT. We need him desperately.

The coach said that he is best as a CAM though...what do you guys think of moving Donovan and Dempsey to the outside and Bedoya as the #10?

Der Zakarian has placed the versatile Bedoya in four positions in his first six matches - on the right, left, in central midfield and as a right wing-back - but the Nantes boss said Bedoya's best position is behind the striker.

It allows us to play this way:

Altidore

Bedoya Dempsey Donovan

Jones Bradley

Beasley Besler ??? Fab Johnson

Howard

The best line up yet for the way we like to play... someone needs to fill that defensive spot, but having players like Bedoya on the pitch increases our chances to score because he makes quick decisions, while at the same time having players who will also track back on defense. our ability to interchange around the pitch during the game when it gets scrambled is a strength of the team thanks to players like Bedoya (beasley, fab J, Jones, Bradley as well)

Fab is going to be on the left. Dolo or Chandler on the right. Any line up that starts Bedoya and leaves out Johannsson is not our best option.

I am going to say that one of Donovan , Dempsey, or Altidore could very well be on the bench at the start of the WC.

Don't be surprised if Donovan is used as a super sub.

IMO no one except Howard and Bradley are sure fire starters.

And expanding on this topic, I give you

------------------------

-------------Altidore-----AJ---------------
---------------Donovan-------------------

-----------Jones------ Bradley--------

-F Johnson----------------------------Ale Bedoya--

-------Besler/Goodson-----Cameron-----Brooks---

Donovan has liberty to go to either side, (come on if we can't defend with a wing back that anchors when he is weak side and 3 centre backs, we deserve to be shot) Bedoya has been getting good reps at wingback , jones and bradley both like to go up, solution? make cameron your beckenbauer, he slides up for holding purposes on defense until the mids come down and then he rejoins the line when the ball gets switched to either side, AJ Altidore Donovan all play, fabian goes back to what he does best, attacking on the left side, but not without defensive responsibilities, This is kinda what barca was trying to do when they realized what their strengths were; an abundance of midfield talent. I am not saying we have barcelona quality, but our biggest strength is the midfield.

any thoughts on him getting a look at playing behind altidore? its been said to be his best position for a long time, but he hasn't gotten a chance. would be something to see in either of these two friendlies

bedoya central last week and i assume was in the same spot today. yet another reason to scrap the 4-4-2/4-4-1-1/4-2-3-1... NONE of JKs wide options, primarily LD, zusi and bedoya actually play wide in those formations at club (zusi plays wide in 4-3-3)

might as well choose your 2 favorite 'secondary' attackers and off-set behind Jozy

------altidore-------
--X-------------X--

so many intriguing options:
- donovan
- johannsson
- agudelo
- rowe
- zusi
- bedoya
- dempsey

Have you watched Nantes at all this season? Bedoya played wingback in one game for 10 minutes. He has primarily played either as the CAM or on one of the wings.

Ridiculous notion to put Bedoya as a wingback with the USMNT.
