Like I stated before, anyone that thinks Klinsmann is satisfied with the current squad are dead wrong.

Agreed. I expect a few surprises.

This is another reason all of the bitching and moaning about roster selection is really annoying. What really matters is the 23 we take to the World Cup and we have no idea who they are yet. If you're really mad that your favorite player isn't getting picked a lot it's too early to make a huge fuss about it because that guy could very well end up in the final 23 or even starting in Brazil. In the mean time, if some players are picked repeatedly who might not be quite good enough but have a great work ethic (ie Beckerman) or if certain flavor-of-the-month players have to wait a little while to get picked (for a variety of reasons, including team chemistry and the need to integrate players into the system before playing them), it might be best for the team in the long run and not something to turn into a keyboard warrior over.

ZZZZZZZinnnggg!

totally right though, message boards are for people to congregate and discuss topics that they probably don't get to discuss with people in their daily lives...most often to release all their bigoted, ignorant opinions on current events.

Of the forums I've ever contributed to, this has to be the most civil, well-behaved and generally poignant collection of forum trolls I've ever had the pleasure of lamenting my remote association with.

Yeah in spite of a few bad eggs this isn't only the most civil but also the best informed. Most of the people here are very not only knowledgable but had a great understanding of the game. Tactically and factually. This a good site. I hope it remains so.

ale bedoya has played 9 minutes for nantes in october (yes, and scored 1 goal) - including 90 minutes on the bench today. generally i think he is pretty limited (see panama game) and, to boot, not a great candidate to help in 2018 - he will be 31. he is in the "just miss" category for me at this point (not going to brazil).

i am submitting this as another piece of evidence to support trying AJ on a wing in more of a front 3

The point of this message board is to talk about American soccer. It isn't to bitch and moan every time your favorite player doesn't get selected.

Most people on here have very reasonable discussions. There are a few posters on here though that think they are experts and know more than everyone else, including our staff. They think their opinion matters so much that we need to fire the coach because he didn't pick the same starting XI they use in FIFA. Luckily Alcharod doesn't come here anymore but there is still that type of behavior here from a few people. And it's all the more annoying because we haven't even gotten to the World Cup yet. Some of these weird favorites (Lichaj, for example) might end up playing for us then, in which case all of the whining would have been completely unnecessary and off-base. But of course none of these self-anointed experts would ever admit to being wrong.

I'd agree for the most part with the other posters, all in all it is a good forum, there are only a couple bad apples. It's pretty small though, I wish there was a bit more traffic. But as far as I know it's the only one related to US soccer.

I'd say there's only 1 true retard in these forums, good for at least 1 howler per week. He's obvious to those of you who have spent time on this site the last couple of years. And I'm actually starting to think the kid is mentally disabled so I try not to beat him up too much.

Other than him, I don't see consistent idiocy from anyone else. Yeah, the guy who's into Sacha over-rotates a bit but he's not saying completely stupid things. And the Adu talk has disappeared since he hasn't done jackschitt in Brazil and more exciting things are popping up for the USMNT.

Boo! Boo I say!

I truly believe that AJ will perform best as part of a two striker system rather than cutting in from the wing. If he were in a quasi-wing kinda role where one of the CMs were to start to drift wide but not too high up in order to open space for the overlap, then maybe, but with Jozy as the partner for flick-ons/hold-up/rebounds, I think IceBacon would really thrive.

Agree about Bedoya though...I think he's more suited to a CAM style role than out on the flank.

I agree with aj USA will thrive in a 2 striker system. Wouldnt mind a 4-1-3-2 , 4-4-2, 4-2-2-2.

Not going to make a conclusion on any potential USMNT player until May. Bedoya will get plenty of minutes, and will continue to be in Klinsmann's thinking all the way until he submits his final roster in May.

To say otherwise is meaningless considering there is what 6 months of intense club ball to go.

Every potential USMNT player and every potential tactical system is in play.

But, it is quite exciting to discuss our opinions.

Have at it you scoundrels.
