Unrelated but I couldn't care any less about these pre-season European Friendlies in the US like the International Champions Cup; however, I think it's brilliant that they play the almost meaningful French Trophée des Champions abroad and that it will be in Montreal today.

I went to it when it was at Red Bull Arena a few years ago. Between Lyon and Montpellier. It felt like a friendly until later on in the match when they realized something was on the line. Went to pks.

Kiesewetter did not dress in VfB's Friendly against Man City. Between Kiesewetter and Tall the games on BeIN sport this morning are a let down.

Johansson! Will all the Americans playing in Germany this year bring any extra viewers compared to watching EPL?

I think the EPL will still reign supreme. But if any league could battle them, it'd be the Bundesliga. Good American players is only an added sweet bonus.

The EPL will still be the top in terms of worldwide popularity, especially here in the states. Until FOX can figure out how to make every match available without robbing people's money, the EPL and NBC's stellar coverage of it will rightfully be the most popular. This is not me shitting on the Bundesliga, because I do think it has arguably the best football being played. But the global reach that teams in the EPL have will be hard to overcome from other leagues.

Fox is so far behind the times when it comes to it's coverage. Almost everyone streams live for free now. Not Fox. That's why I was SO glad 2 years ago when NBC sports got the EPL games.

FOX is in such a good position to take market share and bit into ESPN's monopoly. But they can't get their heads out of the butts. That's why NBC sports is going to (if not already) surpass FOX sports as the #2.

I would love to see NBC or ESPN surpass Fox but I think Fox has clearly already moved into the number 1 position. They have the Women's World Cup, the Gold Cup, half the MLS games, the Bundesliga and the Champions League. Plus they will have the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

NBC hasn't had a MNT game in donkey's years they're pretty much solely covering the Premiership at this point and ESPN is left with the other half of the MLS games and some MNT friendlies.

Don't forget BeIn Sports....I believe they still have the rights for Away USMNT games during qualfiers.

Thank goodness the Traffic Sports PPV days are over. I hate BeIN's quality, at least on Xfinity they claim to be HD but the quality is even worse than SD. That said, I'll still take BeIN over Traffic PPVs 100 times out of 100.

Skangles, what was the last Traffic PPV game? Was it the game where we qualified at Honduras in 2009? I remember going with a work friend to Summers and squeezing in to watch it because there were no other alternatives. That was the day Conor Kersey (as he was listed on the telecast's lineup sheet, so I was initially very confused as to who we were starting with Davies up top) scored twice for us.

On topic, glad to see Fox picked up Bundesliga games, will watch games where Americans are in action at least.

I have no problems with FOX. NBC sports is all right. ESPN's coverage of MLS and The USMNT is meh still. FOX is putting a ton of effort in building their soccer platforms.

NBC didn't want to step up and FOX did.

Fox also has stronger commentators than ESPN does. I will take Strong/Friedel/Julie Stewart-Binks(hot) over Healey/Twellman/Monica Gonzales any day of the week.

Yeah I'll be watching the Bundesliga over the EPL. But that's because I would rather watch the Bundesliga anyway. Added bonus to have quite a few American players in the Bundesliga now. With the possibility of even more going to the Bundesliga in the coming years. EPL is overrated.

I love when people say the EPL is overrated, but almost every time a player leaves the EPL and goes and plays elsewhere they always say the EPL is the best league.
Can't remember who it was but someone last week said this (A Barca player...maybe Saurez): "EPL is the best league, Barcelona is the best team"

EPL is overrated. As clearly seen by their continued flopping in Europe. It's a competitive league a decent watch at times but there is better technical soccer in the Bundesliga.
