Yedlin looked pretty good at right wing during the world cup, smoked the French left back a few times.

I wish Yedlin would take on defenders a little more with possession

He needs to learn a few moves.

You don't need moves when you can dribble with pace the way he does.

Yeah that French left back is supposed to be Frances top young LB as well.

He has body swerves and head fakes which is enough to get around players with his pace. I wish EJ would stop with his constant stepovers.

I wish JK would give him a look at RM in training...he could be a dynamic attacking influence on the flank.

Maybe Yedlin becomes a Gareth Bale type where he starts out as a fullback and then transitions into a winger, Bale didn't have many moves and relies heavily on his pace, Yedlin could be our poor man's Bale, an interesting idea.

Lucas Digne is France's top young LB. He might have gotten beat by Yedlin with pace but so would a lot of defenders across the board. Digne is a much better defender though.. I wish Rodgers would have pushed harder for him.

Yedlin is a good young prospect coming up. But in no way he could be compared to bale or other top RB's. He was a star at that age already. USA has a couple of bright young RB's and one cant assume a player would be a definite star pr starter from a young age, as always players emerge at all ages and the way ussoccer is going at all ages there are several prospects ready to breakthrough in every position. Like i said before USA will be at least 200 players deep for 2018 and all fighting for a spot in Russia. It is definitely exciting the way usa has emerged in soccer the talent is overwhelming.

The problem with comparing American players and foreign players is that we are years behind. If Yedlin had played in a soccer crazed nation like england or france, spain, germany, etc he would have been identified younger and played for a better club than seattle sounders (a fine club in their own right, but its harder to compare american clubs with their european counterparts than it is to compare american players to their counterparts). anyway if aaron lennon etc can be considered good players then Yedlin has all the chance in the world to pull a gareth bale (style and skill evolution not the contract etc)

Yep no LD. I know he is still trying to get over that ankle injury. So, that is probably the main reason.

To be honest the team isn't LD dependent anymore.

I am not sold on Bedoya, Fabian Johnson, or Dempsey (this current Dempsey) being able to carry this team like Donovan often does.

We're playing friendlies. We'll be fine.

LD said a week or so ago he needed like 6 weeks to heal his ankle. Rest up.

When was the last time Donovan carried this "A" USMNT? This current USMNT is not LD dependent have shown that for the past two years.
