Did u ever think klute is the main reason of those stats.. The guy is a 100xs better than Shane...

Did Shane O'Neill steal your girlfriend or something? You constantly sh*t all over the kid. He is one of the best young CB's in the MLS, and could very well be a future USMNT player.

I'm always baffled when I see you agree with someone or praise a player on this board.

rapids have had 2 rough patches this season
1) 1st 4 games - 0-1-3 (W-T-L)
- oneill and klute both got 1st start in 5th game

2) 4 games mid-late june - when oneill was away with U-20
- 1-0-3; 10 goals conceded
- oneill missed all 4; klute started all 4

oneill is the glue that holds this back line together
klute is very good as well

Holy crap. Shane is a very talented CB, but it's not the end of the world if he chooses Ireland. Hopefully he decides to rep the US. But I am not going to cry over spilt milk if he chooses Ireland.

Shane would be an IDIOT if he chose Ireland. That's a blackhole of a move. Stupid kids these days.

It could potentially be a big loss to the #usmnt if Shane bolts

Meh. But in the end the US has Brooks. Look Shane is talented, but if he wants to play for Ireland, so be it. The US will just have to continue developing players.

I think it's a huge testament to the players being developed in this country when other FA's are looking to steal dual nationals from the US.

From that U-20 team Luis Gil and Shane O'Neill probably have the most talent, and the US should be doing everything they can to keep hold of them, but when it's the players decision to rep a country; USSF can only do so much.

On another note: DO you guys think Yedlin should be moved to RW instead of playing RB? His defense is quite bad at times, but when he goes forward he is very special. Originally he is a winger being forced into being a RB. Reminds of Bale when Bale was being forced to be a LB.

It worries me when we act like we have all these options at the youth level. I mean were not Germany or Spain. I like our options in Brooks, Zimmerman, Packwood, etc but we should really try to hang on to everyone we can. Plus the more depth and competition, the better. On your point about Yedlin...how's his crossing? He gets forward well but I haven't seen enough of his crossing to determine how well he would fit in a winger position.

There should always be a priority in holding onto the dual nationals you develop & not trying to overly get caught up in ones with no connection to the U.S.

USSF can only do so much. In the end it's the players decision. Nothing you can do if a player is dead set on repping another country i.e. Rossi.

nobody thinks oneill is dead set on not playing for US. why is anyone talking about this as if oneill is "dead-set" for ireland? for those who are not dead-set there is obviously a lot you can do

what you can do at this point is call and say you have an eye on him and think there is a good chance you will call him in in january - at which point he will begin to be given an opportunity to demonstrate his value at the full USMNT level
