How old is he ? 18 or so.. American players have very low expectations is so sad. He is playing for sunderland heck u bet he will score more goals than altidore in the same amount jozy has played. Idk why american fans think is impossible for a teenager to play in a top league, i bet green would be a top 10 scorer in the epl if he was there. But he plays for the best club in the universe. Going back to my point some guy named januzaj is getting game time and scoring goals for man u, and he is only 18. Is not impossible. And i seen green play he is better that januzaj from man u.... Lynden gooch can score a few goals for sunderland he is old enough to play for them.

You're missing the point...Sunderland, by Gus' own admission, isn't playing a system that relies on a striker to score, he's being used almost solely as a holdup man getting the midfield involved and occupying the CBs. The youth team is obviously playing a more offensive minded system that utilizes the striker.

No one is saying that he wouldn't succeed in the right scenario, but Sunderland isn't the right scenario for the vast majority of forwards in the game, Jozy included. We need him scoring ahead of the WC, not languishing in the relegation battle.

Yeah it's awesome that Gooch is getting first team minutes in pre-season. If Sunderland aren't able to sign Borini then that leaves a hole open for a wide FWD/winger in Poyets 4-2-3-1 formation. Maybe Gooch gets a shot this season?

He should of gotten first team action last season considering how bad sunderland were and their offense. I'm sure he will make his debut this year. Just imagine if he scores more goals this year than Jozy did last year, would be funny.

Imagine if Gooch gets first team minutes and Jozy don't make bench. But I think we'll see a different Jozy this season.

We'll see. Wickham looked great towards the tail end of last season, and I have a feeling Poyet rates Fletcher higher than Jozy. And if Sunderland can pull off the Borini deal, Jozy falls even further down the pecking order.

Jozy needs a loan.

Why would you think Poyet favors Fletcher over Jozy? Fletcher was loaned out last season while Jozy wasn't.

From what I hear Fetcher has been doing well in Pre season but he had a terrible terrible last season. Imo it gonna be Wickham starts as 1st choice leaving Jozy and Fetcher fighting for 2nd choice striker and whoever impresses Gus more stays to fight for first team action while the other player gets loaned out. Then you will prob get Gooch as the 3rd striker that barely plays because he is a youth and if any injuries then you will have the striker loaned out as an option until winter window

If anyones getting loaned out it would likely be Gooch. He's the type of player smart EPL teams loan to a championship squad for experience and game reps, get used to going 90' in a hostile atmosphere. Come back next year to be a starter. Thats what teams like Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City do.

Not Arsenal, We give them first team minutes in the EPL...Which has worked out at times...but has not worked out with many others...

It is my opinion that if you get loaned out at Arsenal, you will never be on the first team.
