Reports are out that the USMNT staff was scouting the Nottingham Forest game this past weekend. Potentailly considering calling up Lichaj for the October qualies. What do you guys think?

Hooray!!! Jurgen is finally using some logic!

But seriously, no harm can come from calling him up and even potentially starting him. We're already qualified, and Lichaj has been starting (and playing well) for a club that is in the promotion zone. And he's at a position of concern for the USMNT right now. It's a no-brainer.

Hopefully the thought process for the october qualies at RB is call Chandler, see if hes done playing games. If hes here then my guess is Orozco would be the 2nd RB and Lichaj stays home until November qualies. If Chandler says no Lichaj is in October camp. With the qualifying all sewn up I wouldnt be surprised if JK treats this almost like the november friendlies and leaves MLS playoff guys home (Evans, EJ, Clint, OG, Besler)

I hope not. Lichaj is horrible. I'd take Evans or a good MLS RB over him.

Agree with Dunlopp's comments. Eric deserves the opportunity and full consideration to potentially make the squad. He has the ability, and is finally gaining good experience.

If him or Timmy Chandler get the call, I'll be happy. Good news to read

Chandler has been playing very good lately.. I think he realized he was wrong and is trying to impress klissman and hope for a call up.. He is our future rb no doubt...

Yep, I could have, but not all of us have the time to scan through all of threads to find it.

I hear that, but good to hear. He needs to take the starting RB spot.

I've probably seen Lichaj play more than anyone else on the thread, arguably in the past couple of years though. I rate him as a technically adequate player, not great, but with plenty of potential for improvement. I think getting him back in the fold will only encourage his improving play. I put little stock in rating one league over the other. The Championship is what it is, we will continue to see Lichaj improve with time and games. I see him back in the Premier league or some other high profile division, much sooner than Nottingham Forest.

Lichaj is almost 25 and he still hasn't shown that potential. I used to be a big fan of his and wanted him to become a part of the national team set-up but he was awful last season from what I saw. He was part of one of the worst defenses in the history of the Premiership and couldn't even get that much PT. Then he got released by Villa and no Premiership team picked him up.

I hope he proves me wrong but I don't see him as NT caliber and just because he's getting a few games in the Championship doesn't mean he has climbed above players like Evans and Beltran on the depth chart.

The Championship is on level, if not slightly above MLS in quality. Once MLS takes the next step with their academies then MLS will be a better league but it
ll take some more time

The next test for the Dooley-led revitalization of the Philippine national team kicks off soon.
