Jones hasn't had a single good game at CB since his been there as a matter of fact he has been terrible there why keep having him at CB.

You act like Jones has played 10 games at CB. He has played what 2 games at CB. He played quite well against Colombia.

Look we get it you are a Gonzalez homer, and you don't want to see him displaced on the USMNT. Gonzo is a good CB, but is prone to many mental mistakes, and now he will have to show that he is better than Jones or Hedges or Orozco or whoever else comes into the equation in the coming years at RCB in camps.

Well maybe you haven't been fallowing us soccer as long as me. 2008 Olympics USA V Nigeria. Orozco with an incredible idiotic play in the 2nd Min of the First half got a red and USA lost 2-1 and Bowed out of group stage, Considering they would of had Bradley and Adu back the next game and Nigeria ended up going to the final. Geeez the most talented team to date. Not even our 2016 squad had/has the talent of 2008 in my opinion.

Actually ive seen the team since 2006 world cup. I was just curious as to how you can bring up games from 2008. It's 2014 and things change. I mean for example Gooch was good in 2009 does that mean he is still good in 2014? Highly doubt it

We still need a replacement for Brooks or more depth. Good countries have like 6 guys at each position on a real depth chart. We all like Brooks but if he gets hurt we are looking at a Besler v Ream battle for LCB at the moment. Quality Depth = good, and the reason we lost to Belgium is we lack that quality depth. The only second stringer to do the job was Yedlin, the rest (Davis, wondo, cam at cm, Bradley at AM, Dempsey at striker the list goes on) were not good enough. It's a numbers game and we are still short.

We can't predict the future. Who knows a year or two from now brooks might be out of the MNT picture.

Yeah 2tone, I'm an OG guy too, but his constant ball watching usually always end up on goals against. He did get significantly better playing the ball from the back.

I'm not to worried about that because it's much easier for right footed CB's to play LCB. So lets say Brooks is injured than you can put Matt Hedges at LCB who is right footed(actualy he plays LCB regularly for Dallas).

here is my CB depth right now:

1. Brooks
2. Jones
3. Gonzo
4. Besler
5. Cameron
6. Orozco
7. Ream
8. Schuler
9. Marshall
10. O'Neil

Wow i honestly would not have Jones as our top 5. I think he should stick to DM. Heck i would have Ream over him. Him back there is a disaster waiting to happen.

I just think it's interesting that all of you are so concerned about CB when this time last cycle we had shit for depth. I think any combination of the top 6 is good for experimentation in this phase of the cycle. As the months/seasons go by I can expect guys like O'Neil and Schuler and other guys can come into the fold and make this more interesting. I'm more concerned about us (Jurgen) fielding someone that's not Jozy Altidore, and establishing who our next go-to DM is (which may have some clarity once Bradley is fit).

I'd be more concerned with wingers, but when we hardly have any wingers getting first team minutes there's not much we can argue about.

I'm concerned about depth at every spot because that's what killed us in the World Cup. At every position except keeper we are short so it's just about getting better and better for everyone. A fly on the wall will enjoy January camp this year- a lot.

I feel you. I think our depth suffered the most at the forward position in the WC, though. January is going to be fun if Klinnsman makes some good choices.

According to Fox Sports twitter feed, Brooks had an own goal and committed a foul in the box, both resulting in goals for Hoffenheim. Down 2-0.
