There is a difference btw choosing to play the 3-5-2 and being forced to. Hejduk and Agoos were both out the initial match against Mexico. That would put the best players available on the pitch. It worked well, withstood the pressure and got stuff opening on the counter, so of course he carried it over to the Germany game who was much better than Mexico. They basically bunkered and countered....JK doesn't play it that way nor did they play a high line. Also Clark isn't happening and Kljestan being as good as JOB is laughable.

agoos was horrible and hejduk was not a LB

bunkered and countered v germany? are you out of your mind? clearly you were drinking that night. or maybe you fell asleep. pull it up on utube and watch again

clark, danny williams, maybe jones... what is your issue with rico clark? uninformed knee-jerk reaction like 95% of posters on here?

laughable that you think JOB was better than sacha. he basically had one really good year and it happened to be in 2002. saying he is equal to sacha is being kind

the JOB fantasy is ALMOST as ridiculous as the stu holden fantasy. love how players who dont actually have a chance to prove their value because they get hurt become the best players ever in fans mind... funny how that happens

It's almost as ridiculous as an average player (Sacha) being as good as you wish him to be. Everytime he doesn't play I smile and think of you rain. It brings me great pleasure to know how upset you are, and will continue to be, for no real reason.
For I am creator of all things soccer. Seek repentance or just beat Mexico, either will get you in up here.

rain... stick to your Kljestan thread, you are ridiculous and only harm this forum.

You've made a Holden vs Kljestan thread in the past. Go post there or any one of another 100+ threads you've turned into a Kljestan topic.

Agoos might have been bad and hejduk might not have been a LB in your mind but they were both starters in Arena's mind, so spin that however you like to fit your argument, you do it all the time, what else is new.

Chill....I typed that over, that was suppose to go with the Mexico comment, I doubled up somehow. Yeah, oddly enough Germany's tactical plan was forced by the US who pressed extremely well, everyone had a great game...the US played above themselves. Still one game doesn't mean it's viable for every team just because a team did it successfully 11 years ago.

It's not a knee-jerk...Clark wasn't good in 2010 and he hasn't improved. He is nothing more than an MLS player, not international quality.

We are talking about talent here....not careers. JOB in 02 was FAR better than Kljestan now. All it takes is to see the players play to know their worth, JOB was an excellent talent, highly technical player.....the same with Holden. You are the ONLY person in the world that would say Kljestan is better talent than either JOB or Holden at their best. The ONLY person....outside of Kljestan's mother, and maybe himself.

When rains comes into a thread klijestan will be mentoined doesnt matter if we are talking about ben lederman lol. Anyways back to JAB I think the injury has affected his confidence a little bit. He should be able to get back into the starting lineup question is will it be now or later. Sooner or later he needs to seize the starting job back or he misses the plane to brazil that simple.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ. JOB was the most naturally talented American EVER. If it wasn't for the injuries he probably would have accomplished more than any of our guys have. He was the type of player who could have played for an elite team.

Lol. Kljestan more talented than JOB? Wow, crazy does not do Rain justice.

Quote from Landon Donovan : "JOB was the most talented American player I have ever seen." When has Donovan said that about Kljestan? Oh yeah never.

Brooks has a knee injury which will keep him out for the remainder of the first part of the season. He should be back at the start of 2014 after the Christmas break.
