The walking wounded:

Michael Bradley: Looking like he will miss the October games.

John Brooks: Injured today. Don't know the severity.

Clarence Goodson: Injured yesterday. Don't know the severity.

Clint Dempsey: Hamstring strain.

Landon Donovan: Ankle sprain.

Hopefully most of these guys will be fine in a few weeks before the games.

Although obviously it was really good to qualify already, its also helpful because we really don't have to worry to much about injuries to key players. Its unfortunate and not something you want to happen, but at least we don't have to start stressing and panicking about it.

noooo. this is good, its a good experiment to see who can step up to those positions. Although John Brooks was a shame, (a ridiculous kind of injury at that too).

Klejstan to take MBradley's role, and lets see what happens.
Johanssen in Dempsey or Donovan's role.

Terrence Boyd is making a big case to be called up again. Has a goal today. I think he has 5 goals in the Austrian Bundesliga, and 8 goals in all comps.

I been saying for a long time Boyd needs to see game time for the mnt.. I think he is a very very good fwd, If anyone could sneak in and take a spot for the 2014 wc is boyd he has the potential to be a star.. Wouldnt be suprised if he moves over EJ and AJ in the depth chart by the time the WC starts.. I see him moving back to bundesliga or epl in january..

I agree that this is could be good thing. We need to experiment. Especially with our CM situation...it'll be either Kljestan or Diskerud paired with Jones. It might be Beckerman though, which does make sense, as he's a #6 and Jones, Kljestan, and Diskerud are all #8's. I would much rather try someone besides Beckerman (we've seen what he can do), and for me we need to try someone who isn't a box-to-box #8. This means a different #6, Williams or Cameron (a distinct possibility), or a deep-lying playmaker (Torres).

My only concern is JAB. Want to see him captied. But I dont think a dislocated elbow will keep him out too long.

What do you mean? This is actually quite bad about JAB. We only have 2 WCQs left. If injured for Octover, he can't be captied until the actual World Cup 14! This gives him sooo much time to jump for GER (not that he would).

It's a good thing we've qualified then and that we've found depth. Bummed the most about Brooks, but I think he can make it.

If I were JK, the roster I'd bring for our final qualifying matches would have a ton of youth, and non starters. This should be a test to see just how good our depth is. No reason risking severe injury like what happened to Stuart Holden a few years back, or something like the Drogba injury when Ivory Coast had a friendly vs Japan and he broke his arm right before the WC.

Lets see just how dangerous our team CAN BE. Plus our fans would not worry about a loss considering we are now in.
