Claudio Reyna has stated that NYCFC will definitely use their three designated player slots. SO that got me thinking will one of those slots be reserved for an American/USMNT player? I think it would be wise to bring in a USMNT player as one of their first signings.

Here are the USMNT players that NYCFC should try to lure away from Europe:

Tim Howard: By 2015 Tim will be 37, and the perfect time to come back to the US and MLS.

Michael Bradley: Instant uptick in attendance if Bradley can be lured away from Italy. This would be a hard get, but Bradley would be 27 and in his prime. He would be their field general and captain if this were to happen. NYCFC would have to offer a pretty big salary.

Altidore: Very long shot, but Altidore would be an amazing get for NYCFC.

Bedoya: A creative fulcrum type of player that wouldn't command a huge salary.

Edu: Very plausible NYCFC would go after Edu. He understands the league, and would allow NYCFC to spend more money on bigger foreign signings.

Like I said I think it would be wise for NYCFC to use one of their designated player slots on an American. Americans love winners, but they also want to see American players as winners.

I could see Altidore, if Sunderland can't get their shit together and Jozy fails again in the EPL!

Howard is very intriguing. He's from Jersey and Everton will probably have his replacement ready after the WC. He'd be no. 1 in my eyes.

Will be cool to see in 2015 who NYCFC goes after.

They are going to want a born and raised american as opposed to a dual national. I could see Dempsey going over there if Seattle thinks he marketing well has dried up on him. I could see a guy like Beasley go there as well.

I think the DP rule will change by 2015. Either a shift to 4 DP's or 1 DP American will be an additional rule.

Howard, Edu, or Jones would be the three I can see happening.

I could see Howard or Edu. However, I think high on list could be Eddie Johnson. He feels snubbed by Seattle because all the money they spent on Dempsey.

I see at least one of Howard or Bradley going back to NJ with the Red Bulls. Bradley's wife's family lives in Jersey as does most of his family.

Jozy is still really close with the RB fan base so I don't ever see him betraying RB to go to NYCFC.

I don't think any of those 3 go to NYCFC.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
