Looks like FIFA is launching an investigation into Joel Campbells blantant dive against Besler.

I have watched that sequence multiple times, and if Besler does step on Campbells foot it is way unintentional with minimal contact. Campbell purposely walked up behind Besler to initiate any kind of contact that he could in order to get Besler sent off. Campbell was looking to get Besler sent off, you can tell. It was a disgrace, and hopefully he gets a 1 or 2 match ban.

I hope we play Costa Rica again and have Jermaine Jones break Campbell's legs.

Good to hear they're at least investigating that blatant dive. Felt bad for Besler. He expressed how he really wanted to play in the Mexico qualifier.

Its actually something Id like for FIFA to look into, setting up a board of former players coaches and soccer minds to review footage of blatant diving. Set up fines or suspensions for repeat offenders. Campbell crumpled and if you ask me it was probably instruction from the bench, knowing Besler on a card would miss a key game allowing CR an opportunity to get a bigger lead in the table.

I personally hope FIFA drag their feet on this until November then suspend him for 1 or 2 WC matches. Suspending him for the remaining qualifiers does nothing since the results have no bearing to CR's fate. The punishment should be meaningful to put an end to this crap and sitting out WC matches would send that message.

Actually, it should start with the leagues. Weekly meeting to review the footage and then fines and/or suspension depending on the severity of the dive. FIFA then comes in and institutes this same policy in all FIFA sanctioned events.

I was thinking the same thing. A suspension for the first WC game sends a message.
