No I'd never like to see Mexico do well nor would I root for them. Rivals are rivals. You root against them every chance you get.

And parallel to this, I loathe the Yankees as a Red Sox fan. We're whooping their asses right now. It feels great.

mexican's problem is their mouth..f***king guardado saying "we are better than usa" and then they got their ass kicked.. canelo vs mayweather "mexico is gonna win the same way ill win on saturday" he got his ass kicked too.. they are already saying that NZ is gonna be their rival like if they will get that 4th place.. i really hope panama tie them home and costa rica beat their ass.. no country in the world like mexicans because of how they are.. i personally hate them so much but they ask for it they get what they deserve.. i really hope they dont go to brazil..

Never had a chance to be around fans of team Mexico; Mexican media; nor sound bites from players when the topic is USA/Mexico. With that said, I probably hate the Boston Red Sox, Texas Longhorns, Oregon Ducks, Costa Rican National Team, and the entire NFL as much as I do team Mexico. I was gonna suggest some love for Mexico...but after thinking about the absolute loser teams/leagues above...I hope they all choke, go on probation, not qualify, and/or have Bruno Mars run rampant over the Super Bowl...errrr, "big game."

Yeah they really represented well in the Confed cup. You want the best teams to go and show well, I actually think right now on a neutral field Panama and Mexico are about equal. Let them play it out on the field and see who should qualify. No reason to root for any team in your region unless it directly helps your team in a tangible way.

WOW! not one person has agreed with @MSantoine! I, as much as anyone, delight in the fact Mexico has fallen so far so fast! I'd love to see Panama get their first WC birth. However, @MSantoine has a very valid point. Now I agree with others no matter how many spots CONCACAF have the US should qualify IF they work at it. But having four spots instead of three is in the interest of USMNT! As much as I dislike Mexico, if they get fourth spot I'll root for CONCACAF over Ociana for WC spot. Just remember, getting that fourth spot and qualify isn't easy just ask CR. This year CONCACAF drew Ociana, next WC we could draw COMOBOL, AFC or Asia, or Ociana again! But we need that fourth spot! Plus, COMOBOL (hope I'm spelling that correct) and AFC have state CONCACAF really only deserves two spots because strength of teams compared to their region. Image getting three spots and that third spot a playoff with COMOBOL or AFC? Think about it, look what NZ did last WC, undefeated, yes I know out in three games, but an 0-0-3 record against good competion could get FIFA thinking maybe Ociana deserves one direct spot! Especially if CONCACAF performs poorly as a fed. in WC. I believe Mexico gives our fed. better chances than Panama would. But we'll wait and see!

Valid points, but how did NZ do in the Confederation Cup? Oh wait, it was Tahiti that won the Oceania Championship. Form is fickle..hard to foresee how any team will do next summer.

I will root for the team that finishes fourth in CONCACAF, no matter who it may be because they earned it.
