If I had to choose 4 players from that U-20 team, I would choose these 4:

Luis Gil
DeAndre yedlin
Cody Cropper
Shane O'Neill
Mario Rodriguez

If I had to choose a few players that weren't on that U-20 team to potentially be USMNT players I would choose:

Jordan Morris
Walker Zimmerman
Brooks

I think these 8 players have the most potential to be USMNT players.

If they have defensive chops like Yedlin, O'Neill or Cropper then we should get them in ASAP...you'll do one of three things: put pressure on the regulars to do better, find a good young starter, or find yourself in a deep hole without a clear frontrunner to help you out *coughRBcoughcough*

Let the others develop naturally without putting too much pressure on them...but most of them will be on the Olympic team too and we can revisit the callups after that tourney (assuming we make it in).

I am hopeful that Marc Pelosi develops into a National team player

Don't forget Stanko. I think Gil, O'Neill, Yedlin, and Cropper are on the up. Zimmerman needs games.

Stanko, Oneill, Cropper, Yedlin all should get looks pretty quickly since they play a position of need. Cropper could play the number 3 after Rimando hangs it up. But Ill be honest I think there was probably just as much talent off that team than on it. Zimmerman makes sense to play and Pelosi if he can be healthy and get back to where he was he will be a player to watch.

Forgot Will Packwood. Once he gets back into things with Birmingham, he's high on that list as well.

Another great add. It's a shame the U-20's were without some of their best players this summer.

I have yet to be convinced by Cody. I think if Yedlin were to make the jump right now, he'd be played in a more advanced position as opposed to RB since his defense is still improving.

I like Packwood, Gil, and Pelosi to potentially be ready the fastest. O'Neil, Yedlin & Rodriguez would be in the tier just below them, but still with a great shot at having a chance to eventually suit up for the Nats.

Sebi isn't U20 but he's in the mix as well. He's made great strides these last few months.

Sorry I don't see either Joya nor Cuevas ever breaking into the senior USMNT.

See, I thought Cuevas was one of the standout performers at the U-20 WC.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
