2-1 Mexico. JK pulls foolish decisions like playing Dempsey at striker and Orozco at RB. Mexico will rape that side of the field. Eddie Johnson subs in at 60th minute does nothing. Aron Johannsen subs in at the 85 minute and gets no service.

Everybody had us beating Costa Rica in the prediction thread which was a long shot and now that the Costa Rica game ended in the result it should have it has caused us to go from overly positive to overly negative.

2-0 USA

I think the US is fine. We were the better team yesterday for 60 minutes of the game. The third goal was BS and we were way more threatening in the second half than costa rica. Losing the leader of the team minutes before the game started was a huge mental blow to the rest of the team. After we settled down we looked the better team but it was too late.

USA 2 Mexico 0. Dos a cero.

So many unknowns in this game. How much is Mexico going to bring in their current state. I believe they'll be playing very hard for their new coach and WC lives. Without MB in the middle a healthy motivated Mexico would give our current defense fits, especially with Besler out and a likely CB combo of Omar and Goodson. The wild card for us is Johannsson, if he lights it up, we'll have a chance to come out ahead. I'm very anxious about our backline D and our ability to maintain our defensive shape in the midfield...Last time we played them we jammed the middle and forced them to beat us with crosses from the flank. I think they'll like that match up. I think we struggle to tie this one late 2-2.

Despite a few key absences, let's not forget what a huge advantage Columbus gives us. This is our historic destination for giving us a home field advantage and they've received enough ticket requests to sell the place out two times over. I expect it to be a completely inhospitable atmosphere for Mexico.

Let's look at the history of our games against Mexico in Columbus

2001: US 2-0 in February
2005: US 2-0 in September
2009: US 2-0 in February

Do you see the trend? We've got the kids from C. Hill and US Soccer. What a great combination.

Just like the USMNT could never get a positive result at the Azteca and finally did the Mexicans will do the same in Columbus.

I also say this ends in a draw, but I would not be surprised to see Mexico win. I have little confidence without Bradley, Besler, Altidore and Evans..yes Brad Evans.

Unless Mixx plays I don't think we win.

I look for a draw and if its Beckerman and JJ starting a draw would be a good result. Mexico probably scores a couple off making runs behind and around Goodson Gonzo and the US gets their goals with LD making runs opening up space and chances to shot from outside the box. I think 2-2, not a bad result missing the players the US is missing.
