Jones isn't going anywhere. He's a Klinsmann favorite. I think at the top of the list has to be MB, JJ, then SK. Then Beckerman if in some unfortunate situation the 3 top options are unavailable

he will start v mexico but if he throws in another cluncker and/or US does not win, both JK and jones will have a lot of questions to answer

What I would give to see:

Jones + creative midfielder

Bradley + creative midfielder

Well Jones club form had slipped pretty far too from the reports Id read, so to see him struggle at the international level is not surprising. Id love to see Diskerud come in for Bradley with this roster, but does JK trust his back four enough to do that? I dont think he does. Mix is a player who can pick up possession and settle things down which is what is needed. He can pick out a pass and is good going forward and works hard on D even if he is not really physical, thats where Jones comes in. But I still think it will be JJ and Beckerman.

I swear if we play with a lineup of JJ matched with Awfulman I'm gonna fall asleep. We all saw what happened when Cam and JJ played together.. no creativity + turnovers = counter attacks. A creative midfielder hassssss to be in there I don't care if its Mix or hell even Torres I'll deal with.

I know this might sound crazy but how about pairing Donovan with JJ. Hear me out. As our most capped player I would expect him to do whatever you would ask him to do. He is creative and keeps possession very well! He will track back and forth between box like Bradley and JJ can sit and play enforcer. You keep Dempsey at CAM so he can cherry pick, for all the Zusi lovers keep his work ethic on the right with parkhurst staying home on the back right. Fabian on the LM making runs inside and put E.J up top. I myself would prefer A.J. But I like the chemistry Donovan and E.J. Had in the gold cup and when Dempsey is too lazy to run off of e.j. Donovan can push into the space.
