Great news to see him go 45 for LA tonight.

That's massive.

Huge. Puts the likelihood of him in Mexico in August at least on the map. LA still lost though.

Just great game in the final. He did it in front of Klinsmann too.

Everyone who needs knee surgery needs to have it done in the United States. Omar was injured in mid January and was back by July 4.

Still worry about his lack of quickness. There were two times that Will Bruin beat him for pace, and Bruin is not exactly a burner himself.

But with that being said I would like to see him paired with Cameron just to see how well they can play with eachother. I still think Besler is a better option to pair with Cameron.

Klissman is just hating on him...

You do know that Jurgen called him into camp last January right? He would've already played for USMNT by now, but Nuremburg wanted to take him on trial so Jurgen agreed to allow him to leave camp after a day or so. Then he had that horrific leg injury, and didn't come back until July, so he couldn't be called up to any camps because LA was midseason. I fail to see how that in any way shape or form could be seen as Jurgen "hating" on him.

He's not better than Geoff Cameron either. They have different skill sets but the fact that Omar has cinderblocks for feet is a big hindrance. Kind of like a young, in-form Onyewu. Clearly, he can overcome that deficiency but it takes away from the player that he might've been had he been blessed with a modicum of quickness...

Lol. I like Gonzo, but in no way will he be starting for any of those teams. Dortmund have Hummels and Subotic, Madrid have Pepe and Ramos, and Man City has Kompany and ? Well you never know he might start for Man City. Gonzo better than Cameron thats where I have to disagree. Gonzo has a bright future, but Cameron in my opinion is a more complete defender.

I see now that you are a big Galaxy fan......as far as Gonzo being the best, ehhh, he might be the best pure defender out of the bunch but as far as the CB in the high line, Cameron is hands down the best we have right now. As far as always will be, Brooks is starting at Hertha at 19, and has a good shot at being in the Bundesliga next year....he has a much higher potential ceiling than Gonzo as he has the attributes that can't be taught or trained. None of those clubs will be after him as all three play high lines and there are a TON more better options that they could buy. I see you have some THICK Galaxy blinders on though.

Exactly...I didn't bother naming as it's not needed. He isn't good enough for those clubs not for most of the top half clubs in the big 4. He wouldn't start for City either they Kompany and Nastasic, plus Toure and Lescott.

Meh Lescott, Nastasic, and Toure aren't exactly that good though. I think he would be an upgrade over Lescott. But he would be battling Nastasic who really hasn't shown well either.

Nastasic has been playing extremely well. Five out of the last seven league games have been clean sheets and he has a lot to do with it, sure he has had a few blunders but pretty solid given his age and first year in the PL. The only upgrade that Gonzo gives City over Lescott and Toure is age that's it.. both are much better technically and passing wise and both are equal to better in defending.

Yea need speed first and foremost, he's great in the air but how many teams in our region have people who dominate in the air who Gonzo would match up with? Very few is the answer. Besler is clearly a better 1v1 defender, he's faster and a lot better on the ball.

I like Gonzo and look forward to him getting a chance with the Nats but lets stop overlooking his slow feet please.
