Onyewu and Sporting have agreed to part ways making Gooch a free agent. Excellent! No rumors as to where he may land but he told Goff a few weeks ago that he doesn't anticipate joining the MLS in the near future.

A low level EPL team would be good for him. He is experienced and healthy.

He should go to Holland. Any American who goes to Holland seems to start or resurrect their career. If not. he should look into MLS.

Speaking of resurrecting careers in the Netherlands, Onyweu reemerged from his extensive injury during his time at AC Milan via a loan to Twente.

With that said, I think he would be valued higher in Belgium due to his time dominating for Standard Liege but the Netherlands would also be a good option. I would guess he's mostly interested in the biggest pay given that he's 31 and has struggled with injuries in recent years, I'm not sure where that will come from.

There were rumors that he would be signing with Club Brugge and had passed his medical exam in Belgium but a team representative vaguely shot down the rumor saying he is not expected to arrive for a medical. Sounds like something may still be in the works.

Seltzer is also noting that he has interest from a team in France but no offers have been made.

Not sure if he would want to come to mls yet. Probably next year or in 2 years would be the best deal for him to go to the mls. He wants a good final payday I dont think mls teams would give up a lot of money or possible draft picks to get him. He also might still be holding out hope of making the world cup squad next year. If he gets an offer from france or belgium or a mid tier european league he will probably stay in europe. Only way I see him coming back to mls immideatly is if he is unable to get any good offers from europe.

He told Goff he doesn't want to come to the MLS at this point and I cannot see him failing to find a squad in Europe.

Gooch may be out of of the MNT picture (he may still get back in with strong play or injuries) but he is still a solid addition to a lot of teams even if his international days are likely behind him.

He already was in Holland for twente it dint go well.. Maybe a low table team fighting relegation is most likely.. Either in la liga epl, France, ItAly, Germany...

I don't understand what Onyweu is doing. The transfer well dried up on the 2nd Sept. and while Gooch is a free agent, the teams that had interest in him have disappeared.

Since he hasn't found a club in 10 days, he should widen his scope and consider joining the MLS or potentially Mexico. Not playing certainly isn't going to help him sign on anywhere.
