Just catching up on US news after a week abroad without much internet. I picked a crazy week to go offline.

I'm sad to see Landon call it quits but the writing was on the wall. I genuinely believe that his sole motivation from returning from Cambodia was to play in Brazil.

I hope Juergen calls him up for the match against Colombia in San Antonio. I know they dislike each other but as US fan, I think Juergen needs to bury his pride and give us our farewell match.

And then Landon will un-retire and demand a spot on the 2018 roster.

Yeah Landon deserves one more. I'd love to see it.

Usually with big stars that retire they usually wait a year or 2 to give them a farewell match. I mean Mexico's cuathemoc blanco barely got his farewell match a few months ago. I predict he will get his farewell match in 2015 or 2016 Vs Most likely Mexico at the rose bowl with close to 100k in attendance. It has to be in LA doubt he will elsewhere.

I think a lot of guys are assuming his lack of passion is related to all things soccer. I've always thought the ebbs and flows of his interest had to do mostly with the latter stages of his MLS career. Since he and JK basically despise each other, he has no chance of playing for the nats....... If he had any chance to play with the nats, he would have taken it in a heartbeat...that's where his real passion resides...he never lost that. Without that possibility the lights started to dim.

The thing that bums me out the most is he shouldn't have had to end his illustrious Nats career by being vindictively frozen out by a coach in a personality feud.

Old news now...can't wait for the book.

My gut feeling is he would have almost no interest in coaching.

I feel like he won't retire completely, he will take another sabbatical and come back. 32 is still fairly young.

He said he's already talking to the Galaxy about working with their youth team.

I could see something like that to stay connected to the game. I just don't picture him aspiring to be a head coach in MLS. If anything, he might want to offer his services in some capacity to the US youth program, but that probably won't happen while JK is running the program.

So just being on twitter and see Jurgen's complements to Klose for his retirement but not Landon? Also complement Sigi Schmid and Rimando for their personal accomplishments. It will be great too see if Landon writes a book and mentions JK

Meh. Did he congratulate dolo? He coached klose for a full cycle. Landon for about 12 months. Klose is the all time goal scoring leader in World Cup history and led jk's country to its first World Cup since his days.

I don't buy and read sports books or athlete's books, but I think I'd come pretty close to buying that book even if he devoted just a couple of paragraphs about his klinsmann relationship!

He made a statement on LD. Just not on Twitter.

I rarely read books but if Donovan comes out with one I will read it from first word to the last. The entire world knows jurgen hates donovan he was being critized by all south American soccer experts. I hope jurgen is the last international coach in us soccer history we have a lot of great coaches here I still thin Caleb porter will be our next coach. If you look at the powerhouses they wi never ever have a coach that is not from there. And no England don't count. Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Italy, etc..

Why does everything personal have to be on twitter? How do you know Landon didn't receive personal calls from Klinsmann or Dempsey etc... I swear people think everything must be displayed for everyone's viewing pleasure these days on Facebook or Twitter. Everyone wants to be in everyone's business now, thanks to social media.
