So you're saying we have world elite strikers right now?

Boink.

no but we have pretty good fwds if they were to get the necessary service they would be great. Jozy, arjo, Boyd, even green can excel with good service. The problem is our midfield/wing play.

Yea that was my point. Germany, technically good, played their regular game. Sure we aren't Barcelona, but we couldn't even go 3 touches in a row. Slips, and bad passes were a feature of that game. Having davis in there we wanted him in space to play passes like that cross against panama, space created by Castillo... But against Germany, the bradleys and beasleys of the team were just as poor as Davis. And yes, I'm saying we don't do well in adverse conditions because we aren't technically good enough. If anyone says snow game, we were outplayed and lucky to win- strictly due to our grit and American mentality to win.

Smart move. Landon absolutely deserves a farewell match for everything he has done.

Hopefully this will finally put all of the whining about Landon not being in Brazil to rest.

Don't really like the call up. Us soccer should of scheduled a special match here in LA later in the year or even next year for the January camp.

What else do you guys need?? Landon to take over Gulati's job? Landon to play every position on the field? Landon to be elected President of the Universe?

I'm fine with this as a curtain call. January camp should be for looking at MLS guys who can help us in the Gold Cup and maybe beyond, not playing a guy who will have already retired by then.

It would be great to have donovans last match in LA. He played here most of his career, January camp game would be great if he gets another call up, farewell game.

I may not agree with admsghs27 on other things, however, I support him 100% in this. If LD is going to get a testimonial game, it should be in LA. It should also be against Mexico, as much as I am tired of seeing us play them. A friendly against Ecuador...that is the BEST US Soccer can do for the face of US Soccer the past decade? Give me a break!

Is your point that Ecuador (who qualified for the last World Cup and beat us last time we played them) isn't a good enough team or that it's somehow insulting because they're not a rivalry game? We shouldn't schedule around one player. We'll get to play Mexico plenty in the coming years, we should be scheduling the likes of Ecuador in this next year or two because we can't play them during the marathon Conmebol qualifying cycle (assuming it remains the same). I appreciate what Landon has done for soccer in this country too, but I sense some people won't be satisfied until he's carried on a palanquin into the Rose Bowl to the cheers of the adoring throngs. He gets a send-off game, that's enough for me.

The testimonial game should be given by the Galaxy in the first place. I'm sure they will do that for him in LA.
