Looks good I think he can work on some things but he is very good with positioning and speed. I Think he can work on his crossing I think his shots from range he could work on a little bit and I think he needs to get a little bit stronger. However he is young and I think he could definitely factor into the 2018 qualifying cycle. I think his chances of making it to the 2014 world cup are about none unless he can start for hoffenheim or become a super sub for them.

Good highlights. Hope he fixes his club situation.

Heard there is another loan on the table and 3 teams interested.

He can't even start for Hoffenheim's reserve team, which, coincidentally, that one guy Fabian Hurzeler who was elgibile for our under 20s has been going the full 90 for them. I suppose gyau is only 20 and could still grow into quality but for now it doesn't seem like he will ever get close to the national team.

It's a tough pill to swallow but right now things don't look good.

It's more important for a young player to show improvement than it is to show ability.

Is it possible for him to turn things around? yes. He's still pretty young but his loan last year was a setback. No question about it.

I think it would benefit Gyau to come back to MLS.

Highlights? That's a very liberal interpretation of the word! 13+ mintutes and I saw one assist, no goals, plenty of questionable decisions and lots of simple square or back passes.... Nothing to see here at this point....

The video of him I saw, he said something along the lines of that getting purchased by Hoffenheim was a mark of success, but that he's not done yet, but that it is pretty good thus far. Perhaps financially it is good, but as far as game accomplishments, he has virtually no success.

Money is nice but for a young footballer success is measured by playing time at a high level. He certainly isn't getting that.

He is still only 20, with raw talent he has time to mature and become a great player. To best do that he needs to find a club that wants him and has confidence and belief in him to succeed.

If he doesn't find a stable club with a coach that wants him he could end up like adu...

He seemed to be making headway there until they changed managers. I hope he finds himself in a better situation soon as I would hate to see his talent wasted. If he manages to get things together he could be a useful player down the road for the USMNT.

I hope that an MLS team is wanting him on loan, I think that it would be really good for his confidence.

It may do him well, but it may not help his confidence right away since he signed overseas to prove himself.

Still, if he plays in MLS it would make for an interesting footnote. I am not sure of any others, but he could be the third generation of his family to play in the top league in the US.

Joe Gyau the forgotten winger.

What if Joe can make a push for the WC team, don't think so? well here is a pitch: Like Shea Joe Gyau has speed to burn, probably has better dribbling skills and is probably a little faster than Shea, and has scored 4 goals in his last 7 Hoffenheim II games. He could push his way back into Hofffenheims first team game day squads. Hoffenheim has struggled on the left side, especially winger, a position Joe plays regularly with their reserve team. Now Fabian Johnson plays on the left, but Fabian also plays LB more often than not for Hoffenheim.

Don't be surprised if Joe gets a look come the March friendlies regardless if he is only playing for Hoffenheim II. The winger positions are still an area of concern.
