Joe Gyau, Charlie Davies, Josh Gatt, Stuart Holden, Taylor twellman etc.. Just to mention a couple what could of been... I'm sure other top soccer countries have the same dilemma. Or duals like Subotic, rossi etc.. No one knows the future could of been OK or great. But in my eyes were in a Great place no doubt biggest talent pool ever, Arena must love it.. Feeling like a kid in a candy store...

He might be heading to a team in the 2.bundesliga.

Highlights from 3 years ago of some of his play:

And more than a year later, he is now going to MLS with Cincinnati. Probably on the best "What could have been if not for injury" U.S. 11, he was barely 22 and was looking likely to get a shot at Dortmund before he blew out his knee. Those pitches in that Concacaf backwater of Connecticut...

He still has time to be a potential role player for the USMNT. But the wings are gaining more depth: Pulisic, Boyd, Arriola, Wright, Morris(still better as a central striker)

At this point a role player may be a challenge...or a short term prospect for Gyau, but his window of opportunity is very narrow. As more and more of our young players gain 1st team minutes his opportunity becomes less and less.
Pulisic, Boyd, Weah, Arriola, Pomykal, Holmes,.... Scott, Amon, Wright, Mendez, Reyna, Soto, De La Fuente, Ledezma, Llanez...
The Midfield has a lot of talent in the pipe line right now. Some are already contributing to the team, while others are making their way up the youth ranks but are getting close.

Gyau's best chance will be at the annual January camp. If earn a call-up and knock off the domestic competition he might be able to hold off the younger guys for a while.

Still think Weah's ultimate position is as a striker not a winger.

I'm not opposed to Weah @ striker. But if we continue with a single striker formation
(4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1) and Sargent lives up to his potential, than I think Weah gets one of the wing positions over a less talented winger (Arriola).

Right now I don't think Berhalter is willing to change to a 2 striker formation....and Weah is better than any other winger we've got. So to get the best players on the field and force the opposition to worry about someone other than Pulisic, I'm sticking Weah on one side and Boyd on the other.

Something like the following gets our most talented and most athletic players on the field at the same time.

---------------Sargent/Jozy-------------
--Boyd------------Pulisic----------Weah--
------McKennie---------Adams----------
-Robinson-----Brooks-----Miazga------Yedlin-

Dest could be used as either RB or LB.
Long could start over Miazga

I do want to see Yedlin and Robinson again but I really don't trust they can do the job defensively and I feel with the emergence of Cannon and Dest hopefully continuing to get time they have to get a good long look.

I also think Pomykal and Holmes have to get a chance and hopefully see what we look like with Pulisic pushed wide.

---------Sargent/Jozy-------------
-Pulisic---Pomykal---McKennie---Weah/Boyd-
----------Adams----------------
-Dest/Lima---Brooks---Long---Dest/Cannon-
