Pretty much guarantees he won't play another bundesliga minute this year. Out until January. Will likely be eased back into Dortmund II. Also dortmunds guys will be back and who knows who they bring in if still struggling in the jan transfer window. Tough break.

Thats great! Something positive after this horrible week. I think when they said he was going to be out till January they meant in terms of USMNT action meaning he wasnt available for the rest of the year. IN terms of clubs that was never really specified but this is good news

My only concern about Gyau moving forward is that he wasn't getting any first team minutes(besides a 14 minute cameo once) when Dortmund had all of their injuries. You would have to say that it is far more likely he will be playing with Dortmunds reserves unless he goes out on loan somewhere in January. Hard to see him getting any minutes going forward for Dortmunds first team unless they have another rash of offensive injuries.

But it's nice to see him already training again.

Glad to see him back. Going back to the reserves and getting matches is the most beneficial course of action for all parties. IMO nobody has really stepped up and threatened his place in the USMNT squad so he has time to fully heal and improve his game in the reserves without having to worry too much about a call up.

Scratch that. He didn't play. But he did make the bench.

Yea that would have been way to fast to be playing even if its BVB II. Who knows he might a loan in January to continue his growth which would be best but he has the talent to eventually change for spots in BVB if he can continue to work hard. But playing time is key at his age

Reus out until January. That can only be good for Joe and them still having him in their plans.

As in, he re-injured it or he's still has residual soreness from the original injury?

Gyau needs a second knee surgery and is likely done for the season. You've got to feel gutted for the kid.
