Time to start the Gyau v Green pool. Who plays (actual minutes) first?

I would go with a Flores vs green pool.

Hopefully Boyd, Flores, Gyau, and Green will be cautionary tales to others of how difficult it is to get 1st team minutes at titan clubs.

Gyau has a great opportunity to sky rocket up the depth chart. I don't think Bedoya and Zusi will be around much longer.

Looks as though the American experiment is over at Hoffenheim.

While not ideal, I don't see this as a bad move. He may have made the first team at Hoffenheim, but first team minutes may have been sparse. So riding the pine at a mid-table to relegation club that changes managers at the drop of a hat or training with one of the elite teams in Germany (maybe even Europe) and presumably getting minutes in their reserves.

At 21, I would take time on the pitch and quality training over time on the bench and training. He has a year or two to prove himself worthy at Dortmund or move to get first team minutes.

As far as USMNT, I think he will start to get called to more camps.

This is the kind of environment where you want a player like Gyau to go. Dortmund is a quality club and their system is ideal for wingers. They obviously see something in him, otherwise they wouldnt have offered a spot to him. He'll have every opportunity to earn his way to the first team. And because of their quality, they are afforded the opportunities to try out young, inexperienced players. As opposed to Hoffenheim who always seem to find themselves battling against relegation and more likely to go with known commodities.

One interesting tidbit is his transfer is techinally to Dortmund II. Not sure if thats just for book keeping reasons with Financial Fair Play, or how they view him. Perhaps he's a fallback option if they run into injuries or poor form and he starts out hot. Either way we should all temper our expectations since he's playing in 3.bundes to start the season.

Idk what he is going to have to do to get first team minutes but at his age he should be getting 1st team minutes in a 1st or 2nd division team. Idk why he moved to BVB because unless he impresses Jurgen Klopp some way or form he wont be seeing the field for BVB at all.

You never know. They bought him for a reason. Hopefully he impresses with the first team.

I think Gyau is seizing his opportunity, could be a first team player for Dortmund. Never thought I would be saying that. Hats off to the kid tho, he is probably working his ass off..

I wasn't going that far. I just meant perhaps he is starting to break out and be a good loan candidate in 2-B or 1-B and this time have significant contributions.

Yeah. There's no way he's a first teamer for Dortmund this season.

That being said, I would love to eat crow.

Twitter exploded, Gyau scored. He needs to be loaned and see 1st team consistent minutes. I still say 2-Bund is best.
